Happy New Year! I’m sharing My Favorite Healthy Recipes for 2023. The new year is here, so let’s start it off right with my best wholesome, balanced, and of course, delicious recipes. I’ve included all of my favorites – everything from breakfast to lunch, to dinner, to desserts. Each and every recipe is delicious, just a little more balanced, and made with plenty of vegetables for lots of nutrients. I’m excited to start January off with so much color, and deliciousness. Which of these recipes are your personal favorites?

As I type this, it’s snowing fluffy white snow outside and it just couldn’t be cozier Christmas vacation weather. This is such a special week. Things have finally slowed. Everyone is relaxing and forced to take somewhat of a holiday break, as most of the world shuts down. It’s always so nice after such a busy season.
With family here and the snow falling, I’ve been making a lot of soups, chilis, and slow-cooked, simple dinners that everyone will enjoy. Some of my coziest recipes! And even though the weather is leaving me craving the coziest food, I’m excited to start the week off with a list of wholesome, vegetable-filled recipes. I’m actually craving it!
This is the 7th Healthy January and it’s become a month that I think everyone really enjoys. Here’s the thing, I use the word “healthy” lightly because everyone’s view on healthy is different. My goal is to create nutrient-rich recipes to keep the sicknesses away and our energy levels high. I’m not the type of person to ever go carb free, skimp on butter, or share a cheeseless pizza.
Nope. I believe in balance and I do think that high-quality, European-style organic butter is indeed GOOD for us. I focus on using only real food in the recipes I share. Take the recipes you love, adjust them how you like, and leave behind what you don’t care for.
And with the cold winter days upon us, we still want cozy food. Thankfully, cozy and healthy can work together. This month I’m excited to share bright colorful recipes that are full of flavor and nutrients.
Are there any recipes you’d be especially excited to see? Cozy favorites made healthy? I always love hearing from your guys!

I love that you have the recipes for a whole meal not just the main course! makes it so much easier! do you have a recommendation on how to meal prep for a week/month???
Thanks so much Chrissy! I’m not a huge meal prep person, but if you sign up for our emails we do send a weekly menu and grocery list;) I hope this helps! xx
Holy Shiite, Tieghan! Enough, already! Stop! I could have one of these every day and be in bliss right through until spring. I’m not even a breakfast person, but those recipes are making me drool. The cashier at Trader Joe’s and I had a conversation about you this morning and we decided you are a genius. Your photography is stunning.
How does one person get so much talent?
P.S. Just made the “Better than carryout” Drunken Noodles, which aren’t even on here and they were spectacular.
Hey Jean,
Lol thanks so much for your kind message and reading along! Thanks for trying the drunken noodles, so glad to hear they were enjoyed! xT
Just went through and pinned several of these! It makes me wonder if you’ve thought of doing a cookbook with healthier recipes; all of these could be included! Thank you for putting this together!
Thanks so much Emily!! I hope you love the recipes, let me know which ones you try:)
Happy New Year! There are too many I need to try but the spicy sesame chicken with ginger rice looks like it will be our next dinner! Thank you for sharing your wonderful recipes, you are a food wizard. Loved seeing your holidays with the family, looks like such a fun time. I gotta know…did Red get you to go down the hill?! 😄🏂
Hey Amber,
Happy New Year! Thanks so much for making so many recipes! I hope you love the sesame chicken, let me know how it turns out! Lol no I don’t go down the backyard hill:) xx
Did you ever post the salted peanut butter shortbread bars? Happy New Year!!!
Hey Kim,
Happy New Year!! Are you referring to this recipe?
https://www.halfbakedharvest.com/chocolate-peanut-butter-millionaire-bars/
Let me know!! xT
On the Dec 9 Christmas cookie box it listed the cookies and then said salted peanut butter shortbread bars, recipe coming next week. No big deal , they just sounded good and I couldn’t find in archives. Thanks kim
Happy New Year Tieghan and thank you for this and I cannot believe that it is now January 2023 already. I hope that 2023 is a good year for you and your family.
Unfortunately I cannot pick just one or a few of these recipes, as I love most of them, however being 2nd January I’m starting off by making the Thai black pepper chicken and garlic noodles for dinner this evening. I’ll be swapping the chicken for pork though, as I have some leftover pork that needs to be used up.
Then tomorrow I will be making the Crispy roasted cauliflower with creamy pesto pasta, however my partner does not like cauliflower, so I will swap with for broccoli and add some roasted mushrooms as well.
Thanks again. Have a great week 🙂
Hi Colleen,
Happy New Year! Thanks so much for reading and your thoughtful comment. I appreciate you giving so many recipes a try! Let me know how the pasta turns out, I’m sure it will be great with the broccoli. Please let me know if you give this recipe a try, I hope you love it! xT
Looks like you linked the wrong recipe for the poke bowls.
Thanks for letting me know Jess, I will fix this! Happy New Year! xT
Tieghan, you’re a godsend! Healthy eating is eating whatever makes you feel good and nourished. Your recipes are beautiful and contain all the food groups. There’s so much to choose from that everyone can find something to love here, no matter what their dietary preferences or requirements are. Thank you for what you do. Carbs, vegan, fats, meats, dairy, salad, fish, vegetarian, cocktails, mocktails, you do it all, and offer something for every reader around the globe. Well done! Here’s to a prosperous 2023 and beyond!
Awe thanks so much Shelley!! I appreciate you following along and sharing your thoughts on healthy eating! Totally agree with you! Happy New Year! xT
I am so excited about all of these recipes! We’ve tried a few of them already and I can’t wait to make the rest. I love that you use whole foods and don’t cut food groups out. My family got healthier and lost a combined 200+ lbs eating meals just like these. Eat the butter and the pasta and the cheese and the bread!!!
Hey Michele,
Thanks so much for reading and your comment! Wow, that’s amazing for your family, what an accomplishment! Let me know if you give any of these recipes a try! Happy New Year! xT
Hi Tieghan, Happy New Year! Beautiful collection of recipes! Thank you for this diverse list of so many good things, and for recognizing that fat is healthy and good for you! 😍Whole butter, yes please! Most of all, these recipes are so well rounded, with all food groups recognized, and as you mentioned, people can pick and choose what works for them. The healthiest part about it is that there is literally something for everyone. So much nutrition and variety here.
Keep up the amazing work- we appreciate you!
Hey Aline,
Happy New Year! I appreciate your kind message and sharing your feedback! Let me know if you give any of the recipes a try, I hope you love them! xT
I don’t see my favorite healthy recipe of yours here: Sweet Corn Chimichurri Butter Shrimp with Polenta. Instead of cooking the shrimp in all that butter I use a little olive oil, and for the polenta, I substitute unsweetened plain almond milk for the whole milk. Super delicious and very easy to prep, too. Happy New Year!
Hi Sus,
Thanks so much for sharing your fave recipes!! So glad you have enjoyed them your past year! Happy New Year! xT
Soo many recipes that look amazing! Our favorite from this year was the Chicken Fajita Tortilla Bowls. We make them every chance we get! It’s the recipe that introduced us to Spicy Honey. Soo good!
Thanks so much for making the chicken fajita bowls Charla!! So glad to hear that they were enjoyed! xT
I’m confused. The title of this post included the phrase “healthy recipes” but most of these seem to be pretty unhealthy. I get everything in moderation, but these are all pretty high in fat, and low on nutrition.
“I’m confused”.
And stop.
That was the only part of your comment that rang true or made a grain of sense, Eddie.
I agree. All recipes are super delicious, but healthy? Not at all.
Is this ED for eating disorder?
You’re absolutely correct. It’s sort of funny. They are all super rich, but not low in carbs. They might have a bit higher vegetable content than an average HBH recipe, or be vegan even though it’s a rich dessert. Or maybe it’s a dessert with some whole grains in it. Healthy is a huge overstatement. Healthier? Maybe. Still an overstatement. They are possibly good tasty recipes that are slightly less unhealthy.

SO many delicious recipes! My family has tried and LOVED each of these salmon recipes, but the Honey Chipotle salmon is everyone’s favorite. All those cauliflower recipes look amazing, so maybe I’ll skip the roasted cauliflower that’s my usual go to, and try something NEW! Thanks for your creativity and generosity, Happy New Year!
Hey Linda,
Thank you so much for your kind message and trying so many recipes! We’re so glad you have been following along and appreciate your support! Happy New Year! xT
