Thanks for joining me for another Nine Favorite Things post. Do you remember last Sunday how I shared all the pretty autumn leaves here in Colorado? Well, this past Thursday it snowed. All I have to say is that I’m cold, and sooo not ready for snow season. I absolutely hate to complain, but that’s […]

Thanks for joining me for another Nine Favorite Things post. Happy first Sunday of October! Hoping you all are enjoying fall as much as I am! Up here in the mountains, we (very sadly) are on the downward side of the fall foliage peak. Our fall leaves were the absolute prettiest (see photos below). I […]

Thanks for joining me for another Nine Favorite Things post. It’s crazy how once September hits, the hustle of autumn really sets in. It’s not that summer was slow, it’s more that fall is always just so full. I love it and I hate it, but I mostly love it. I will say that finding […]

Thanks for joining me for another Nine Favorite Things post. After all the excitement from last week’s big wedding, it actually felt good to jump back into a regular workweek. Oh man, hosting a 200 person wedding is certainly a big undertaking…and I didn’t even do that much! The bride, the groom, and the parents […]

Thanks for joining me for another Nine Favorite Things post. Happy Sunday! I’m writing today’s Favorite’s post late Friday night, after a 16+ hour day in the kitchen working on wedding cakes. To say that I baked a lot of cakes would be an understatement. And yet I still have some to finish up in […]

Thanks for joining me for another Nine Favorite Things post. We have officially entered “wedding” week. By this time next week, my brother will be married. It’s just now hitting me that we are really growing up. I mean, Brendan is twenty-nine, so it’s not like we’re not “grown-up”. But he’s the first of my […]

  • (Kai's favorite) Sesame Orange Chicken. The super simple better than takeout, takeout style(ish) dinner that takes 30 minutes to make and is everyone's favorite --> sesame chicken tossed in a gingery, garlicky sweet, tangy, and extra sticky orange sauce. SO GOOD. Healthier than takeout too. Just serve over rice. Always rice. Grab the recipe in HBH Super Simple cookbook (page 192). PS. making this start to finish on my stories tonight. #hbhsupersimple
  • Roasted Butternut Squash and Spinach Lasagna. Because it’s a very good time to be making (extra cheesy) lasagna. I promise. This one is my current go-to. It's creamy, layered with roasted butternut squash, buttery béchamel sauce (made using @vermontcreamery cultured butter), and topped with salty, crispy prosciutto…ok and crispy sage and rosemary too. Simple nothing is better. Make this tonight, make it this weekend, serve it to everyone. It does not disappoint. recipe on HBH today (linked in profile). #cheesebutterlove #sponsored
  • Goat Cheese Stuffed Bacon Wrapped Dates...with Rosemary Honey that’s hinted with just a little cayenne pepper for some spice. Baked until the bacon is crisping and “candied”...sooo you see? Sweet. Spicy. Cheesy. Salty. Highly addictive. I know these might not appeal to every, BUT I beg you to give them a try because they are GOOD. Recipe up on HBH today - linked in profile. #f52grams #imsomartha #thanksgiving
  • Cider Braised Beef Stew with Rosemary Polenta. For all the upcoming freezing cold Sunday nights ahead...a super easy (actually delicious) beef stew. It's slow cooked with red wine, fresh herbs, and served with creamy, buttery rosemary polenta. It's kind of "fancy", but kind of not, takes only minutes to prep, but cooks all day so you come home to a house that smells incredible and a dinner that is ready to eat. Most important though? It's really GOOD. Shared the recipe last week, link in profile. #slowcooker #f52gram #comfortfood
