Chocolate Reindeer Cupcakes

Santa, your reindeer taste so good! In the form of a super moist, super chocolatey cupcake. Of course, Rudolph and his friends are covered in whipped chocolate frosting that tastes almost mousse like and then decorated with chocolate covered pretzels, mini Nilla Wafers and M&Ms. Seriously, I never knew Reindeer could taste so good! Honestly though these are […]

Nutella Oatmeal Lace Cookies

So I bake. Like a lot. Maybe more than I cook. Probably way too much, for the normal person that is. There are a lot of us in this house (but you already know this). We like our chocolate (again, I am sure you have figured this out by now). Creaming butter, whipping cream, melting […]

Candy Cane Cinnamon Rolls

Visions of candy canes danced in my head….. Literally! I was hiking the other day thinking about food……. and Christmas……… of course. When honestly visions of candy cane cinnamon rolls popped into my thoughts. Umm, is this weird that I think about candy cane cinnamon rolls as I am hiking? Ah yeah, I thought so. […]

Spaghetti Squash Pancakes

Why should leftover turkey have all the fun? Every year at Thanksgiving we always have spaghetti squash. I do not know why. Maybe it is because no one other than dad and I like brussel sprouts and green beans or maybe it is because I had an obsession with it five years ago and ate […]

Whew! Thanksgiving whipped my butt! And my kitchen! You should have seen it, it looked like a tornado whipped through there! Although it kind of looks like that everyday until I decide I have made enough of a mess for one day and need to clean it up ASAP! And when I clean, I really […]

Fudge. Is tomorrow really Thanksgiving? How did that happen, it seems like last week was Halloween! I have to admit though, I am so excited! Thanksgiving around here means cooking all day while listening to Christmas music, cutting down our Christmas tree, serving up a delicious meal and topping it of with our first Christmas […]

Gorgonzola Butternut Squash Ravioli

Oh Monday, you are not so bad after all. Remember how I said rice was a staple in our house? Yeah, well so is pasta. Pasta with butter. Preferably homemade using my favorite pasta dough recipe. And remember how I said I was hoarding butternut squash? Well I decided to use it up! And this is […]

Chocolate Cinnamon Roll Pancakes

Oh yeah, I did it…… I made cinnamon swirl pancakes……and then added chocolate chips simply because you can not have a pancake without chocolate chips. Just look at them! Doesn’t your mouth just water looking at them? They are sinfully delicious. Definitely a breakfast for holidays! But really isn’t that what the holidays are about? Sinfully delicious food…all […]

Chocolate Bourbon Cupcakes with Butter Pecan Frosting

So, the other day I went to Costco………..And I bought a lot. A whole lot of bourbon! Does anyone else buy Bourbon by the half-gallon? So, yeah I do not drink. Like at all, never tried the stuff, nor do I plan to. I have many reasons for this, but we will save that for another time. […]

  • Creamy (garlic butter) Sun-Dried Tomato Tuscan Chicken and Orzo...tittle pretty much tells you all you need to know. This is kind of like your favorite Italian chicken and pasta dinner, but all made in one skillet and in under an hour too. It’s creamy, a little garlicky, lemony, and as close to perfect as it gets. Tip? Add crusty bread for scooping up that cream sauce. It’s very good. Recipe up on HBH - linked in profile. #f52grams #easyrecipes
  • Cream Cheese Swirled Chai Gingerbread Cake. It’s that time of year when nothing is better than baking all day long…enter this cake. It’s heavy on the ginger, made buttery with @landolakesktchn Extra Creamy Butter, swirled with cream cheese, just a little decadent, and just about as close to perfect as it gets. It’s generously drizzled with a buttery lemon glaze for a perfectly sweet and spiced gingerbread cake. It’s delicious. Sharing the recipe on HBH today - link in profile.  #sponsored
  • Caramelized Mushroom and Kale Pizza. Monday night is better with pizza. Truth. This is my favorite when the weather is cold. It's simple, but GOOD. Fresh herbs, balsamic mushrooms, kale, and 2 cheeses (because more cheese is always better). Every last bite is delicious. And there is kale...so it's almost like eating a salad. All about that balance. Recipe on HBH - linked in profile.  #f52grams #buzzfeast #imsomartha
  • 30 Minute Coq au Vin Chicken Meatballs. One of best recipes make for these cold December nights. It feels fancy…and cozy, but is ready in less than an hour and is the easiest to put together. The coq au vin sauce is KEY. It’s made with whole lot of red wine and it is loved by everyone…which is why I am making this for the fam over the holidays. Just one thing? Don’t skip the browned butter mashed potatoes. Everything is better with a side of creamy mashers. ENJOY. … … 1 1/4 pounds ground chicken or turkey 1 egg 1/3 cup Panko bread crumbs 1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese kosher salt and black pepper 2-3 slices thick-cut bacon, chopped 1 yellow onion, chopped 4 cloves garlic, minced or grated 4 carrots, chopped 2 cups cremini mushrooms, sliced 2 tbs tomato paste 1 1/2 cups dry red wine 1 cup low sodium chicken broth 2 bay leaves 4 thyme sprigs Add the chicken, egg, bread crumbs, parmesan, and a pinch each of salt and pepper to a bowl. Roll into tablespoon-size balls and place on a parchment lined baking sheet. Bake at 425 for 15 minutes. Cook the bacon in a large skillet until crisp. Remove the bacon and reserve. If there's excess bacon grease, drain off all but 1 tbs. Add the onion and cook for 5 minutes, until softened. Stir in the garlic, carrots, and mushrooms. Cook another 5 minutes. Add the tomato paste. Add the wine, chicken broth, bay leaves, and thyme. Season with salt and pepper. Bring the sauce to a boil, cook 10 minutes or until the sauce thickens slightly. Stir in the meatballs, cover and cook 5 minutes, until the meatballs are coated in the sauce. Remove the bay leaves and thyme. Stir in a handful of parsley and the bacon. Eat the meatballs and sauce over mashed potatoes. #recipevideo
