Chocolate Reindeer Cupcakes

Santa, your reindeer taste so good! In the form of a super moist, super chocolatey cupcake. Of course, Rudolph and his friends are covered in whipped chocolate frosting that tastes almost mousse like and then decorated with chocolate covered pretzels, mini Nilla Wafers and M&Ms. Seriously, I never knew Reindeer could taste so good! Honestly though these are […]

Nutella Oatmeal Lace Cookies

So I bake. Like a lot. Maybe more than I cook. Probably way too much, for the normal person that is. There are a lot of us in this house (but you already know this). We like our chocolate (again, I am sure you have figured this out by now). Creaming butter, whipping cream, melting […]

Visions of candy canes danced in my head….. Literally! I was hiking the other day thinking about food……. and Christmas……… of course. When honestly visions of candy cane cinnamon rolls popped into my thoughts. Umm, is this weird that I think about candy cane cinnamon rolls as I am hiking? Ah yeah, I thought so. […]

Spaghetti Squash Pancakes

Why should leftover turkey have all the fun? Every year at Thanksgiving we always have spaghetti squash. I do not know why. Maybe it is because no one other than dad and I like brussel sprouts and green beans or maybe it is because I had an obsession with it five years ago and ate […]

Whew! Thanksgiving whipped my butt! And my kitchen! You should have seen it, it looked like a tornado whipped through there! Although it kind of looks like that everyday until I decide I have made enough of a mess for one day and need to clean it up ASAP! And when I clean, I really […]

Fudge. Is tomorrow really Thanksgiving? How did that happen, it seems like last week was Halloween! I have to admit though, I am so excited! Thanksgiving around here means cooking all day while listening to Christmas music, cutting down our Christmas tree, serving up a delicious meal and topping it of with our first Christmas […]

Gorgonzola Butternut Squash Ravioli

Oh Monday, you are not so bad after all. Remember how I said rice was a staple in our house? Yeah, well so is pasta. Pasta with butter. Preferably homemade using my favorite pasta dough recipe. And remember how I said I was hoarding butternut squash? Well I decided to use it up! And this is […]

Chocolate Cinnamon Roll Pancakes

Oh yeah, I did it…… I made cinnamon swirl pancakes……and then added chocolate chips simply because you can not have a pancake without chocolate chips. Just look at them! Doesn’t your mouth just water looking at them? They are sinfully delicious. Definitely a breakfast for holidays! But really isn’t that what the holidays are about? Sinfully delicious food…all […]

Chocolate Bourbon Cupcakes with Butter Pecan Frosting

So, the other day I went to Costco………..And I bought a lot. A whole lot of bourbon! Does anyone else buy Bourbon by the half-gallon? So, yeah I do not drink. Like at all, never tried the stuff, nor do I plan to. I have many reasons for this, but we will save that for another time. […]

  • Creamy Tuscan Pesto and Burrata Pasta...with artichokes, white beans, lemon, and even some greens too. Because when Monday feels more like Sunday, why not make the biggest pot of creamy pasta? Trust me, it's a good idea. Added bonus? This is all made in one pot, start to finish. So it's easy + creamy and delicious too. Recipe on the blog today - linked in profile. What's everyone making?  #f52grams #burrata #hbhhealthyjanuary
  • Creamy Chicken and Gnocchi Soup with Crispy (buttery) Mushrooms. All the things you love about chicken soup but with the addition of an extra creamy broth, soft pillowy gnocchi, and even some garlicky mushrooms too. So, it's better. And? It’s the easiest dinner. Just throw everything into the slow cooker (instant pot OR make on the stove) and done. It's creamy + herby + a little cheesy. And then gnocchi + mushrooms!?! SO GOOD. Grab the full recipe in Half Baked Harvest Super Simple. Link in profile 🖤 do I make this on stories? #hbhsupersimple #instantpot #soup
  • Chipotle Tortilla and Rice Soup made plant-based with @fieldroast Plant-Based Mexican Sausage. #ad So. Much. Flavor. We love this soup. The sausage brings a  spicy, smoky flavor plus it’s super simple to make. The toppings finish it off  plenty of tortilla chips, cheese, avocado, dollop of yogurt, cilantro…all the (very good) things. … … 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil 1 sweet onion, diced 2 cloves garlic, minced or grated 2 teaspoons cumin kosher salt and pepper 2 Field Roast Plant-Based Chipotle Sausages, sliced 3 cups red enchilada sauce 3-4 cups vegetable broth 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped 1-2 cup cooked rice … Cook together the olive oil and onion, garlic, cumin, and a pinch each of salt and pepper until the onion is soft and fragrant. Add the Field Roast Plant-Based Chipotle Sausages, cook until browned, 1-2 minutes. Stir in the enchilada sauce and broth. Simmer over medium heat until warmed through, about 10-15 minutes. Stir in cilantro. Spoon the rice into bowls and ladle the soup overtop. Top each bowl as desired with tortilla chips, avocado, cheese, yogurt, cilantro + lime juice.
  • Persian inspired Herb and Beef Stew with Rice. Because it's very much stew weather and I love a cozy weekend dinner. This stew isn't your average stew. It's different and it's VERY GOOD. It's lemony, spiced with turmeric, heavy on the herbs, served over rice, and it's even made in all ONE POT. Very into it. Shared the recipe on HBH this week - link in profile. PS. the key word is inspired, not authentic :) #hbhhealthyjanuary #stew #comfortfood
