Sharing the 22 Most Popular Holiday Appetizers today to help you find the perfect dishes to share with family and friends this season. This list has everything from classics like baked brie, to yummy seasoned crackers, to flavorful dips, and even the most festive Christmas tree cheese board. If you’re looking for simple delicious appetizers to serve up this holiday you’ll surely be able to find them here.
Being in New York has made me realize that pretty much everyone in the city has a holiday party two to three nights a week, wow! People are certainly entertaining this year, and I love that so much! Between the Christmas plays that are happening, the holiday markets, and all of the lights, New York is incredibly festive. I have not made it over to see the tree or the store-front windows on 5th Avenue yet. I need to find some time to squeeze that into my trip!
With so many parties, and families gathering soon to celebrate, I know that many of us are probably in need of appetizers to serve to guests as they arrive. If you ask me my number one tip for entertaining, it’s to make your guests feel welcome the minute they walk in the door. Have the fire going, the drinks ready, and a warm bite for them to nibble on.
There’s nothing more inviting than a delicious drink and appetizer situation! Below are some of my personal favorites…that also tend to be the most popular every single year! Excited to see which ones you choose to serve to your family and friends!

It’s not that I want to be “healthy” on Christmas day, but I’d also love to find some appetizers/foods to enjoy with a little less over the top fat content, but still super tasty. By the time I’ve sampled a few, it just starts to be too much. I also have a friend who can’t do dairy- it’d be nice to have some ideas that didn’t all require cheese.
Thanks for sharing your feedback Kirsten:)
These were good, however, I knew they would be messy, but they were over the top messy. The bottom half of the roll baked hard on the bottom which surprised me with all the moist dip, so they didn’t pull apart. I had to cut them with a knife and the filling spilled out everywhere. Maybe my oven bakes hot since I did use the recommended temp and time. They were a little too rich for my liking. I always think I like spinach artichoke dip but I really am not a huge fan. These were good though and worth the try. Thanks for all your great recipes!
Hi Cheryl,
Thanks for sharing your feedback, I’m assuming regarding the sliders? Sorry to hear they were messy for you. Please let me know if there is anything that I can help with! xx
I made the Pull Apart Italian Sub Sliders, and I was worried about the “pull apart” part, so I separated the rolls, stacked the filling for each roll, and put a toothpick in each roll. It was super easy, and they were delicious.
Hey Earline,
Happy Wednesday!!❄️ So glad to hear that this recipe was enjoyed, thanks so much for making it and sharing your feedback! xT
I’ve made several of these and they are always a hit! Quick question – my in laws have a very small oven and we live a ways away from them. We are celebrating there with an appetizer Christmas gathering – any fav cold or room temp recipes that travel well? Unfortunately the oven will be occupied my MOH said. Thank you!!!
I should add that I’m attempting a board but just may not have a ton of time that day. You’re the best, thanks!
I would go with one of the snack mixes since you can make that ahead of time and serve it room temp.
Good call, yes!
