Happy Father’s Day, everyone!
It’s been such a busy week, but such a good one too. Actually, a little challenging and a little wonderful all at the same time, but that’s real life, isn’t it? It’s not always rainbows and sunshine.
I spent the week in Austin for another content photo and video shoot. These weeks are always so rewarding, but they’re also a lot of work. I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to shake up my routine, but it’s still an adjustment, even after spending so much time here already this year. Every trip teaches me something new, and I’m thankful for that.
The weather was forecasted to be rainy all week, but it ended up being beautiful for the most part, which felt like such a gift.
And today I should be back home in Miami, which I’m really excited about. What are you all doing for Father’s Day?
We celebrated a little early while my brother was in town, and it was so special.
You all know how much my dad means to me. He’s always the first person to give me a hug when I need one or a pep talk when things feel hard. And if he spots dahlias anywhere, he’ll buy every bunch he can find just to bring them home to me. He’d do absolutely anything for his family, and I feel so lucky to be his daughter.
One of my favorite things is watching him with my little brother. The other week, they were out husking corn together, and it instantly brought me back to my own childhood summers. We’d spend evenings in the backyard husking corn while burgers cooked on the grill. Some of my happiest memories.
I’m thinking we’ll do a big family dinner tonight and celebrate Father’s Day all over again.
That’s all from me this week! I’m excited to start sharing some 4th of July recipes soon, and we have lots of summer travel coming up too.
Wishing all the dads and father figures out there a very happy Father’s Day, and wishing everyone a wonderful week ahead!
1. Things Iโm Loving.
makingโฆa Creative Bucket List This Summer. Love this cute list and the ideas.
On my personal list:ย
Come up with a summer cocktail recipe, which I already have. It’s only four ingredients and I think it’s going to be my cocktail of the summer. Nothing fancy, but I had it this week in Austin and absolutely loved it.
Write a letter to my future self. Something positive. I have this version of myself in my head that I know I can grow into, and I think it would be fun to put those thoughts on paper.
Take a ceramics class, ideally with a friend!
Get into horseback riding. I need a hobby!
Make a summer vision board with magazine clippings. I used to make collages for my room and fashion inspiration from cut-up magazines all the time. I should bring that back.
Bake and decorate a cake completely from scratch just for fun. Maybe for my sister’s birthday in August!
Try a dance class (or learn a dance online). I have a friend who loves her dance class, and she’s making me want to give it a try too.
Host a dinner party with the ultimate summer menu. Lots of seasonal produce, simple flowers on the table, and all the cozy summer vibes.

gifting…flowers! I sent these dahlias to a friend. I love gifting flowers because they say so much without needing any words. Theyโre a reminder that happiness isnโt always something you find, itโs something you create. And if you can swing it, order a second bouquet for yourself.

5. This Week’s Camera Roll.

Night walk with mom before a morning flight

Nothing makes me happier than a walk. Ideally, early morning, and then just as the sun sets. I love listening to the sounds of nature. Getting outside is the most grounding thing for me. It brings an immediate sense of peace and reminds me to slow down, breathe, and appreciate the beauty all around us.

I took a lot of videos but forgot to take more photos. This is the pretty mess we created.

Love your pics! Have you moved to Miami now? You are so creative with your recipes!
Thanks so much, Sharon!! The move is just temporary, just trying something new for right now! Have a great Sunday!
I LOVE a good Summer Bucket List! Thanks for sharingโฆI teach English as another language & every summer I have my students make a Summer Bucket List. It doesnโt have to be anything fancy & 2 items โcountโ as a list for these very busy people. I make one right along with them. Periodically, we review the lists and talk about progress. Progress is not only doing the list but using their English while doing an item and talking about the item/how it felt to be using their English.
Itโs a fun way to celebrate summer and keep up their skills.
Thank you for keeping your Sunday 9 Favourite Things up-I look forward to it every week!
Hi Dale,
Thanks for reading today and always! Love that you do a bucket list with your students, I think it’s such a fun idea! Thanks for sharing.
Have a great Sunday and week ahead!
