Nine Favorite Things – Pumpkin SMASH is back
Happy Fall everyone! It’s officially my favorite season and time of year. We have so much to look forward to and be excited about over the next few months. Starting off with “spooky season”, I just love it!
My one big goal right now is to practice more gratitude in my day to day. Over my 10-day New York trip, I fell a little into the comparison trap. I noticed myself really obsessing over things I wasn’t doing or being presented with. I found myself continuously comparing myself to others and at the end of the day, feeling worse about myself.
I’m sure many of you can relate, but once you fall into that comparison mindset, it can be a hard thing to break. This week, I ended up randomly listening to a few podcasts that spoke to this topic. I’ve come to the conclusion that I need to focus more on gratitude and the things I’m grateful and excited about!
Because really, I have SO MUCH. I’m going to work on keeping my boundaries and staying off social.
My focus remains the same. Family, health, a roof over our heads, the food on our table, and appreciating our strong family bond. I’ve been repeating these every night while in bed and then adding things that I was/am grateful that happened that day. Most of the time I fall asleep before I can even finish, so I’m putting happy thoughts in my head instead of negative. It’s definitely a practice that requires work to keep up with, but I’m enjoying it. It’s been a great way to get out of my own one-track mind.
Ok, I guess that’s my life update for you all today. I wasn’t planning on sharing any of that, it kind of just came out. My hope is that it may encourage some of you who could also be struggling with something to remember the things in our day-to-day lives that we can so easily take for granted.
Heading into this week, I’m looking forward to having my family back here in Colorado. They’ve been traveling and then spent the weekend in Cleveland for a family wedding. They’re heading home tomorrow and I can’t wait to see them, especially Asher and Oslo. I’ve missed them so much!
I have a little less than a week here in Colorado, then I’m heading to LA for a photoshoot, some filming, and more! Maybe it will be somewhat like fall in LA?
Hope you all find a great way to enjoy the last Sunday of September! Oh, and last but not least, if you missed it, I shared my yearly roundup of all the Most Popular Fall Recipes. There are definitely some great ones in there to try!
(fall has arrived)
everything in my cart (low)…some new Zara finds for fall. Love these low cut socks, so so cozy. A perfect cropped wool coat. And these pumps! They look like they are Prada. This is a great pair of biker boots and an amazing leather jacket.
I adore this Reformation crossbody bag. Super cute! Also loving this head-to-toe denim look from Mango.
Loving all things jeans. These Long Barrelin Caramia jeans from Frame are in my cart. And I think this Denim Midi Dress from Reformation is awesome too.
Oh, and I’m ordering the Frame marble crewneck sweater. This is 50% off on Nordstrom and I am obsessed with how cozy it looks.
listening to…
I was so surprised by this episode and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. A lot of great personal takeaways.dreaming of going…Villa Pizzo on Lake Como. This place looks like a dream. It’s on my top 5 bucket list places to visit. I’ve mentioned this before, but I thought this was a fun piece on Lake Como if you’re interested in learning more.
shopping…these from Parachute. I think it’s time to update my towels with these.
recent Amazon finds…kitchen addition.
everything in my cart (beauty)…loving the Charlotte Tilbury Eyes To Mesmerize Cream Eyeshadow. I want to try PATRICK TA Major Dimension Eyeshadow Palette.
Re-ordering the Augustinus Bader the body cream. I forget about this for a second, but it’s in my top 5 in terms of body creams. It’s more of a luxurious purchase, so I use it on occasion and alternate with either the Tatcha smooth body butter (this is the one I use every single night) or Elemis skin nourishing body cream.
loving… splurge-worthy bedding. Wanting every piece in the Parachute organic resort collection. I added this Cloud Soft Organic Sateen Duvet Cover to my cart. How wonderful does that look? So cozy. As is this wool throw from BR Home. And this Mohair-Blend Throw Blanket I found on Neiman Marcus is so pretty too.
Okay, and these are really lux, but the Burberry Checked Wool Blanket and Loro-Piana Diamir cashmere and silk-blend blanket are beautiful.
shopping…St Frank. The entire tabletop section. Wow, so many good pieces.
reading… by Shea McGee, so pretty!
wanting…to eat at arket, restaurant & garden in Fishtown, Philadelphia. sounds amazing.
, a meverything in my cart (high)…Love the new Ferragamo . This Burberry is a closet staple. You could have this forever and it will never go out of style. I love the updated style.
For shoes, I think these from Tory Burch would get so much wear. They’re really cute. And I am very into these new . I want them in the brown and black.
following…Jenna Rennert. If you love beauty, you need to follow Jenna. I listened to her on a recent episode of Lipstick on the Rim and shockingly became hooked. Loved learning about her beauty routines and favorite products.
need to listen to…
. I’ve always struggled with this.shopping…Labour and Wait. They have some cute kitchen pieces that I’m considering ordering. They also sell my favorite brand of glass jars for storage that are hard to find anywhere online. Their site sells Rex jars too.
Creamy White Bean Lemon Pesto Orzo Soup
Spicy Buffalo White Chicken Chili
Creamy Gnocchi Soup with Rosemary Bacon
French Onion and Mushroom Soup
Healthier Slow Cooker Creamy Tortellini Vegetable Soup
q: what would you change about your name?
a: Honestly nothing. My name, Tieghan, is the one thing I have always really loved. I’ve never wanted to change it! I love my name and the way my mom spelled it. It’s different!
q: how many photos do you have on your phone?
a: Way too many to count. My phone is out of storage right now.
q: where do you get your dishware?
a: Mostly Anthropologie or Etsy. Love Zara Home too, it’s a hidden gem full of affordable kitchen pieces. But Anthro is always a go-to source with easy shipping. I also do a lot of searching online, so I’ll often order from random places. I do a lot of second-hand and vintage store shopping too. These places just take more time to find and also to ship.
q: do you ever take breaks?
a: I don’t love breaks, they kind of give me anxiety. Right now I am in a go-go GO phase of life. Traveling has REALLY helped me feel re-energized and inspired. It’s also allowed me to see more clearly what I want/need for myself and our growing business + team.
q: would you ever change your hair color?
a: I wouldn’t change it!!! I like my hair just as is and have never wanted to be another color or shade.
q: would you ever share a “what I eat in a day” style post?
a: Nope. Everyone should eat for their own bodies and not adjust their diet based on their favorite influencer. Diet is so personal. You need to feed your body what your body needs. And that’s most likely not what I personally eat daily. I’m not a nutritionist or wellness influencer, so I don’t think sharing that would be beneficial for our community. This is just my opinion.
No not they don’t. I share items because I love the brand. I love sharing what I really use in real life with you all.
q: what are your favorite leggings or workout sets?
a: I love Alo sets. The Alo soft lounge legging has been my go-to forever
q: can you do more giveaways?
a: So I love doing giveaways!! I’ll usually post them to my feed or I love sharing Starbucks cards on stories. We do have a fun giveaway coming up soon. I’m curious, what types of giveaways would you like to see me do? I am happy to do more!!
q: what are you looking forward to this fall?
a: Fall is my favorite season, but this year we have exciting launches, travel plans, and new things to share. Our next launch comes in November and I can’t wait to share it with you! We’re also working on a handful of projects that will come early next year and next fall. It’s such an exciting time, and I feel so happy to be doing these things!! And then, of course, there are all my cozy fall recipes to share!!
You all! It has been so amazing seeing everyone cooking from their Home Chef meal kits. This past week we shared my Chipotle Salmon Tacos and Roasted Red Pepper Pizza. Coming up this week, we’ve got my Dad’s Chipotle Beef Tacos and Creamy White Bean Lemon Orzo Soup. And next week. Korean-Style Beef and One Pan Hot Honey Mustard Chicken.

Why did you start sharing such unhealthy recipes with so much butter and cheese? Inadequate amount of butter and cheese. Every recipe has too many carbs. Previously, your recipes were more balanced and healthy. Stop promoting unhealthy food. And I really liked your old recipes. They were really good and beautiful. To this day I still use your older recipes. But I don’t get it wtf is happening to your recipes now…
I made the Easy Spiced Baked Potato Soup this week and it was sooooo good! I will be making this again!! Upcoming recipes I want to make are the French toast Sticks and the Game Day Party Mix. Thanks for sharing all these ideas!!!
Thank you so so much for trying out the recipe! I really hope you loved it! 🙂
Today you recommended $800 rubber (!!!) rain boots to your followers. Do you understand the demographic of your following? I suspect that many are like me, and in no world can or would we ever spend $800 on rain boots. That is my monthly food expense.
Good for you that you have reached a level of success where you can buy anything you want. I applaud your success, but flaunting it to your far from wealthy followers seems tone deaf. Read the room.
If your passion is in fashion, I encourage you to go for it, on a separate non cooking blog. You know what I would like to see instead of all the fashion links? Links for cookware, new utensils, cool kitchen stuff, things that make sense for a cooking blog. Please stop the cooking with Prada, it will never be a thing.
No Paris trip? Just saw on your Instagram q&a 🙁 am I going crazy, I swear I thought you mentioned Paris in a recent NFT! I was looking forward to your Paris food and fashion stories! What changed?
I thought you were going to share your NY recap! Where’s it at?
Suraya is soooooo good, if you are ever in Philadelphia there are so many amazing restaurants to try. In addition to Suraya, I recommend Zahav or Laser Wolf, Parc, and of course a stop at Reading Terminal Market!
Thank you so much Amanda! 🙂 xT
Thanks so much for the Home Chef recipes. I order 2 per week and it just helps get get through the Monday/early week crazies. Had the salmon tacos last week and looking forward to your Orzo White Bean Lemon soup tonight.
I’ve been Dying to go to Suraya too…we live 1/2 hour outside of Philly….my hubby is on a low salt diet so he can’t go, my daughter went with her friends said I would love it..so if you need someone to go with please invite me….it would be so fun to have dinner with you, I have 2 of you cookbooks( sorry they are stained form use) LOL..Nancy
Hey Sara! Thank you so much! So glad you’re loving the Home Chef recipes! xT
Gorgeous photo of you in the red shoes!
Thank you so much Lisa! xT
I can totally respect not sharing a “what I eat in a day” but would you ever consider sharing recipes that you cook for yourself on a weekly/monthly basis? I love all the dairy loaded recipes just as much as the next gal, but I’m sure we can all agree that they are mostly enjoyed in moderation! I know it might not generate as many clicks or likes on Instagram but I think it would be nice to see your preferred method for cooking veggies and protein.
Aww I was looking forward to the NYC recap/recs you’ve been teasing. Any plans to still share those? Have a good week! 🙂
I’m curious about why you say you’d never share what you eat in a day when you participated in a video for Harper’s Bazaar called “Everything Half Baked Harvest Founder Tieghan Gerard Eats In A Day”?
How is this a dig? This is literally a video Tieghan did. https://youtu.be/3dbDTil7TP8?si=JeqdsxvASiASV2wl
She may have just decided to do one video for Harpers’ and is now no longer interested and doesn’t feel like doing another one. That’s fine, I guess, she could just say “I did one in the past if you are interested,” and share the link, and explain she’s not planning to do another.
That would prevent a lot of the confusion.
Hey there!! Moving forward from that I decided to no longer share that type of information. Hope that makes sense! Xx
Good for you! Just because you are a successful and influential business woman doesn’t mean you have to share your personal eating information for people to pick a part! I love your recipes and your cooking videos and getting to see your family… I personally don’t care what you eat! 😜
What do I love about fall? The crispness in the air; cozy clothing; hot drink and a good book (but that’s all year).
Loveee all of those things Debbie! xT
I love your look so much in that photo shoot for the pumpkin smash candle!
Thank you so much! It was such a fun shoot! xT
Agreed! The shoes are incredible!
This couch photo is a vibe queen!
Aww thank you ! xT
I’m confused as these posts aren’t about family anymore…Will you share an update about the annual family break? We never found out wherein was held!
