I share this post every single year at the end of December. A look back at the top recipes shared. These are the recipes you all have viewed, cooked, baked, and loved the most. For a while, I didn’t love this round-up style post, but over the years I’ve found it fun to take a look back at the year.

Some of the recipes that are popular always, always shock me. But there are some I’ve made and known even before posting that the recipe could be popular with you all. Because I just LOVED it so much.

In general, it’s the quick dinners, crockpot meals, and sheet pan recipes, that you all seem to love most. Chicken is popular, but salmon, shrimp, and tuna are always loved as well. This has also been the year of the rice bowl, which I could never, ever complain about. Rice bowls are my absolute favorite and I’m excited to have some in the line-up for upcoming January recipes.

As far as desserts go, we all seem to love cookies (that includes little Oslo). Brown butter cookies and any type of chocolate treat with a pinch of sea salt seem to be popular. Warming chai spice is loved too, and even more so when vanilla is added.

Do you see?! It’s fun to look back, and for me, even more fun to learn the flavors and dishes loved most!

We’ve never seen so many HBH recipes being made, we’ve had so much growth and I can’t wait for the year ahead! It’s incredible, and I’m extra thankful for you guys and your constant support and kindness. We love our HBH family!

I hope you guys are having an amazing holiday break!!

  1. I can’t wait to try more of these! I personally made the cider braised chicken with caramelized onions weekly throughout the fall season and it was such a hit. Thanks Tieghan for all your hard work curating delicious recipes.

  2. I just made this recipe and me and my husband loved it. The flavor is off the charts! Maybe I had the heat up too high, though, because the chicken was pretty rubbery.

One note is that in the last step it says to garnish with the green onions, but those weren’t in the ingredients list.

  3. The Krispy Chicken Katzu bowls, and the creamy chicken chilli were big hits in my house. I made both recipies at least 3 times. The chilli become a staple.

  4. You are phenomenal! I know every recipe I choose will be a slam dunk. Some of my favorites from this list have been:
    Spicy white chicken chili
Healthy Hamburger helper (I make this for all meal trains)
    Lemon Dijon chicken and orzo
    Butter chicken
I hope you had a wonderful New Year!

    1. Thanks so much for your kind message Caroline!! I love to hear that these recipes were enjoyed:) Happy New Year! xx

  5. It’s so bad! All I cook is HBH in our house! And each one is a hit! Our favorites have been the creamy chicken gnocchi soup, the chicken noodle, 30 min chicken peanut ramen, chipotle chicken tacos with jalapeño ranch, Simple coconut chicken curry, creamy balsamic mushroom chicken and your tuna poke bowls ! The list goes on and on!! For the new year … more one pot meals, and more curries and Asian/Thai! Thank you!!

    1. Hey Samantha,
Happy New Year!! Thank you for making SO many recipes this year, it makes me so happy to know that your family always enjoys them! Hope you’re off to a great week! xx

  6. One recipe we have had on repeat this year is the sliced garlic Parmesan bread. We always have pasta on Christmas Eve and the last 2 years we have added this bread recipe as a new tradition.

  7. I began cooking your recipes the year and I have to say out of this list, the buffalo white chicken chili, spicy pesto pasta alla vodka and the white bean lemon pesto orzo soup are my favorites. I got two of your cookbooks, including your newest one for my birthday and I’m enjoying them! I recently made the cashew butter chicken recipe and it was hit with my family! I hope you have a happy new year and I’m definitely looking forward to more of your recipes. 🙂

  11. Is it about to be 2023 already!? 😀

Time flies, but luckily we have HBH to keep things tasty. I’ve been following, loving, and being inspired by HBH since 2016! I wish I had become aware of you sooner, but I have spent considerable time going through the older archives, marveling at how far you have come in the last decade or so, and creating some of the oldies but goodies when the inspiration strikes. So many amazing and delicious recipes, twists on the classics, brilliant fusions, and endless creativity. Some of my all-time top go-to favorites are:

Sweet and Savory Cheesy Bacon Wrapped Puff Pastry Twists (v.1 2013)
Gingery Steak and Brie Sliders with Balsamic Cranberry Sauce (2014)
Jameson Whiskey Blue Cheese Burger with Guinness Cheese Sauce + Crispy Onions (2015) (your burgers are BRILLIANT!)
Prosciutto Chicken Parmesan with Garlic Butter Tomato Pasta (2018)
Crispy Chipotle BBQ Chicken Tacos with Creamy Charred Corn Salsa (2021)
Buffalo Ranch Pretzel Chicken Caesar Salad (2022)

…ok, I have to stop now, as the list is endless. Truly, this barely scratches the surface.

Keep up the amazing work – I can’t wait to see what 2023 and beyond brings. Your 3 fabulous cookbooks are centerpieces of my kitchen, and the blog keeps things exciting when I want to have endless possibilities to choose from. Best of luck to you and much continued success. You’ve got this!

  12. My new years resolution for 2022 was to cook 1 new recipe every week and I constantly found myself at your blog for ideas. I made 26 *new* dinners from your blog this past year and we loved them all. I can’t wait to see what you have for 2023!

  13. I wish I’d made more of these this year, but there’s always 2023! I can see why the street corn chicken enchilada bake was among these. It’s so good! My fave recipe from you this year had to be your spiced pecan apple cider doughnut cake or beer bread, but everything’s so delish! I’m so glad I found your blog this summer. You’ve really helped me to hone in my skills for baking and cooking. I look up to you and I’m so grateful for you and your incredible talent! Thank you for providing easy and yummy recipes for me and my family. I hope you’re doing well! Happy New Year! Abigail
