You donโt need to be a professional baker to make this deliciously easy dessert. Layers of sweet, chewy dates, salty mini pretzels, creamy peanut butter, and rich dark chocolate come together to create a homemade candy bar thatโs both simple and satisfying. Each bite is sweet, salty, crunchy, and chewy โ peanut butter Snickers vibes, just made with better-for-you ingredients.

If youโve been here for a while, you might remember the 5-Ingredient Chocolate-Dipped Peanut Butter Cookies I shared years ago โ all the way back in January 2018. That was the year we all went to South Koreaโฆ do you remember?
I made those cookies before we left, and theyโre still one of my absolute favorites, especially for January. Even my family โ who donโt exactly love dates โ canโt get enough of them.
Back then, dates werenโt really a trending ingredient. Now theyโre everywhere, and honestly, itโs one food trend I can fully get behind. I adore dates. Theyโre natureโs candy โ chewy, sweet, and packed with nutrients. A date a day is what I say!
Today, Iโm sharing the easiest dark chocolate date bark. Itโs made with just five ingredients: dates, pretzels (optional if you prefer no crunch), peanut butter, and dark chocolate. Simple, satisfying, and perfect for an easy winter treat.

Ingredients

Split each date in half, remove the pit, and arrange the dates on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Press them into a rectangle, making sure each date is touching at least one other so they form a solid base.
Scatter the pretzels evenly over the dates. Drizzle the peanut butter on top, then gently spread it into an even layer.
Transfer the pan to the freezer while you melt the chocolate.

Melt the chocolate chips, then pour the melted chocolate over the peanut butter layer. Use a spoon to spread the chocolate evenly.
Sprinkle with flaky sea salt. I also love adding dried rose petals โ theyโre so pretty.
Freeze until fully set, then crack or cut the bark into wedges. Enjoy!
I like to keep these stored in the freezer.
The final result? Chewy dates on the bottom, the creamiestเถ peanut butter center with just the right amount of salt, and a chocolate top that cracks with every bite.
So delicious โ and perfect for parties and gifting since this really feeds a crowd.

Hey Bobbie,
Thanks for making this recipe. Love that it turned out well for youโthanks so much for sharing back!
Love this! The key is to keep them cold to stay firm and I freeze per the directions then store in the fridge. Theyโre so easy and I flex the recipe so I have a full layer of dates, covered with as many pretzels will fit in a layer, peanut butter – freeze – chocolate and salt – freeze again. Yum!
Hey Amanda,
Happy Sunday! I appreciate you trying this recipe and your comment, love to hear it was a hit!
