This last week has been such a roller coaster of events. I’ve been cooking nonstop in preparation for upcoming travel this week. I have a 2 to 3 week project staring in April that I couldn’t be more excited about. I’m sure many of you can guess what may or may not be coming this fall!

My days have been spent cooking, photographing, and filming. We’ve had a lot of weekday calls regarding new collaborations/partnerships that have been cutting into my cooking/photo time. But, of course, it’s always fun trying to brew up new things! New things coming your way soon!

We had a bit of a scare this week with my dad. Long story short, he managed to develop a serious infection in his elbow (likely staph or strep). Not just one, but two doctors at two different hospitals misdiagnosed. The first sent him home with antibiotics, and the other sent him home and told him to do some exercises. When his elbow wasn’t getting better, my brother Red immediately got him in to see a doctor at the Steadman Clinic in Vail. They discovered not only a serious infection but that he’d also torn his tricep. They admitted him, and he had surgery on Monday and again on Wednesday to clean out the infection. He is home now with IV antibiotics and goes back in on Wednesday to repair the tricep.

Let me just say this, having a parent in the hospital is one of the worst feelings. Even though I knew he would be OK, it was so unsettling. This was the first surgery my dad has had, and he’s now about to have his third. I just kept thinking how grateful I was/am that it wasn’t anything worse. I can’t even type the words out, but you know what I’m thinking. I’m thankful he’s back up and running. One arm is down for the count, and the other has a pic line. But all things considered, he’s doing really well. I feel to lucky to be able to spend so much time with my dad every single day.

A little reminder to always be thankful for your health and never take it for granted. It’s easy to overlook and not think about when you’re healthy, but when something happens, you’re quickly reminded.

That was a lot for this week. Outside of home life, it’s currently Fashion Week in Paris. I’ve been reading Vogue nonstop, the fall collections are stunning. They have me excited for September! I’m feeling more and more of a need to give myself a break from always thinking about creating new recipes. I’m trying to have a little more balance, and we all know how much I enjoy the fashion and beauty world. It’s always been such a passion! Sharing some cute pieces below. I hope you’re able to find some new spring looks you enjoy too.

With my dad not being able to help clean the kitchen this week, I’ve been listening to a ton of podcasts while I clean. I learn so much from podcasts. They’re such a great way to hear from a variety of people, I really love them. And knowing I get to listen to a podcast while I clean actually makes me look forward to cleaning the kitchen! I’ll share the ones I’ve listened to below!

This week I’m really looking forward to South By Southwest (SXSW). Can’t wait to speaking on my first panel! Are any of you attending?

That’s all of my rambles for today, apologies it was kind of a lot! Enjoy a springy Favorite’s post, and happy Sunday!

1. Things i’m loving, wanting, and excited to try.

reading…The Secret of the Dragonfly: A story of hope and promise.

wanting…this pretty Dragonfly Candle Snuffer, how fancy! I love the act of blowing out my candles, but this is cute!

everything in my cart (low)…adding this Free People cable cotton sweater to my Nordstrom cart.

From Zara, this zippered shoulder bag is so cute. Also, the cylinder shoulder bag. Both are so good. And I love this mini skirt + ribbed knit sweater too. Wear with these slingback pumps. Or these kitten heels are super fun too, and I love this color as well.

The Coach Kitten Heel Mule is cute, classic, and honestly a pretty great price for a designer shoe.

J.Crew launched new swim pieces, and this underwire bikini top in dot print is the cutest. And it’s on sale!

listening to…All Things Nutrition w/ Shira Barlow: The Food Therapist. A really thoughtful episode and attainable approach to healthy eating and nutrition for everyone.

dreaming of going to…Le Barthélemy Hotel & Spa. I see this hotel a lot on Instagram. It looks so nice. I’ve officially started dreaming about a tropical trip. It’s that time of year!

loving…a solid bedtime routine. In all honesty, my bedtime routine is non existent. Some nights I have a good night and get to bed, other nights I am up way too late. I love the idea of creating a routine around bedtime. Ordering cute and cozy Pj’s and new organic sateen sheets or organic linen sheets to kick my butt into gear.

testing…altering my probiotics. I currently take (and love) the Cymbiotika probiotic. But I heard it’s good to rotate brands every few months. The Ritual Gut Health Synbiotic+ is what I’m ordering next.

everything in my cart (beauty)…I restocked my Slip Skinny Scrunchies Set. I love the pastel color wave for spring. Super cute.

Wanting to try the Gucci L’Obscur Lengthening Mascara.

Ok, some tools I need to add to my collection, the Facial Gua Sha Empress Stone. I see this everywhere but have yet to get into Gua Sha. I use The Skinny Confidential Pink Balls and feel like that’s kind of the same thing. The Gua Sha would be great for travel though!

Lastly, I’m thinking about ordering the teeth whitening toothpaste from Boka. I’m also on the lookout for a good travel toothbrush. Any favorites to suggest?

empties…I use the IS Clinical Genexc serum every morning as my vitamin C. The cleansing polish I use once or twice a week. I love the gentle exfoliation.

traveling…The Coolest Places to Stay, Dine, Shop, and Go in London.

shopping…a couple of Sezane basket bags for warm weather travels. How cute is this mini basket bag? And this Raphia bucket bag too. Both would be so cute on a tropical Caribbean trip.

burnt out…the Diptyque Ambre (Amber) Scented Candle. This might be one of my favorite Diptyque scents.

everything in my cart (high)…new Prada handbags. The Large Leather Tote Bag with Buckles has me written all over it. And I know Asher loves the new Buckle Large Leather Handbag with Belt.

loving…Spllit, the new app for storing, sharing, and reviewing recipes online. McKenzie on our team said she started using this app to keep track of all her recipes. She said she’s been loving it!

shopping…a couple of home decor finds. Need to order this cozy blanket. These Zara linen pillow covers are really cute. And I’m into this silver decor trend. This is a cool ceramic vase. Here’s another silver vase option and a fun sculpture. And in the jewelry department, this is such a pretty jewelry box, a cool ring holder. And for a cool spring cocktail look, try this stainless steel coup glass.

5. Pinterest.

Lately, I have been finding so much inspo through Pinterest. I mainly pin home design, florals, travel, and quotes – sometimes fashion too. We’re back to working on the studio and home re-designs, so I’ve been pinning everything from kitchens to bedrooms, to offices, and even outdoor gardens. I wanted to share a few that I really love!

  1. Hello!
So glad your Dad is on the mend.
Somehow I managed to remove myself from the Sunday post.
Will your team please put me back on it? Such a fun part of Sundays.
    Thx!

  2. Sending good vibes and wishes for a good recovery to your dad. I know all to well the medical situation he is going through and how difficult it is to navigate a very fragile medical system. I am being polite by saying fragile. Managing IV antibiotics at home can be very challenging. Knowing you I am sure you have him taking a good probiotic. I hope going forward things are smooth and uneventful for him. Take good care of him and yourself. These are hard times.

    1. Hi Cari,
Happy Sunday! Thank you for your kind message and well wishes for my dad:) You are so right, the medical system can totally be hard to navigate and you definitely have to advocate for yourself. We will certainly be taking good care of him! Have a great week! xT

  3. Tieghan…..i was at Steadman on Monday when your dad was getting the x-ray…I recognized him and he loved it…i said i know Red from the Colorado Snowsports Museum and the Burton Open and i actually had taken Conrad’s pic back after Red won the gold….and Silverthorne was Goldthorne…he told me about his elbow but he hadn’t had the X-rays yet….we had a great chat…and i told him we would love to have you do a book signing down the road…and he TOTALLY agreed…please give him all my best and quick recovery…..he’ll remember our conversation for sure..it’s Holly Cole

    1. Hi Holly,
Thanks so much for your message today! Yes, we heard all about you:) Thanks for taking the time to to say hi and chat with him. Yes, I would love to do a book signing around here soon. Thanks again for being so kind and have a great week! xT

      1. OMG….we are thrilled……and whenever it works……here’s my cell phone number…970-390-3948…and the Museum number is 970-476-1876……….and I’m praying that all goes well with Conrad…on Wednesday…and if there’s anything i can do to help or bring him something i would love to…i live right in West Vail…….honestly Tieghan i could have sat and talked to your father for hours….he is one great guy!!!

  4. Good Healing to your Dad! I wish I could say 2 misdiagnoses was surprising. Our sick care system is disgusting. Thank God for Red!

If you get a gua sha stone, get the one from Noy Skincare in NYC!

My place to travel by astrological sign sign was wrong too!

    Have a great week!

    1. Hi Nancy,
Thanks so much for reading today! We truly appreciate your well wishes for my dad and yes the health care system can definitely be scary! The doctors at Steadman have been nothing short of amazing. Thanks for your gua sha stone recommendation! Happy Sunday! xT

  5. So glad to hear your dad received a proper diagnosis, so scary! Sending positive thoughts for a speedy recovery! OX

  6. Scary what happened to your dad! Glad he’s on the mend at home now. Hope the surgery for his triceps goes well. Sounds painful – but he has a great support group with your family!

Have been listening to podcasts while cooking and cleaning. Thanks for the suggestions.

Made your ranch chicken and chili mac and cheese last week. Both delish! Thanks always for the great recipes. Happy Sunday!

    1. Thanks so much for your kind message, Melanie! I love sharing the podcasts that I have been enjoying, it surely helps when doing the dishes, so I am glad you have been enjoying listening as well! So glad to hear you enjoyed the ranch chicken and chili Mac and cheese this past week, thanks for giving them a great! Have a wonderful Sunday! xT

  7. Sending get well wishes to your Dad. Wow…that’s scary that he was misdiagnosed twice! Yikes!

I LOL at the…take a trip per your zodiac sign. I would never ever go backpacking! That would be pure torture for me!

Thanks Tieghan for another great Sunday post. Give your Dad a hug from me.

    1. Hey Sara,
Happy Sunday and thanks for reading! Right?! So freaking scary that he could be misdiagnosed not just once, but twice…so thankful for the doctors at Steadman! Haha, my zodiac trip is sooo wrong too, glad I’m not alone there. I feel you and backpacking is not high on my list:) Have a great week! xT

    1. Lol thanks Laura, we will try!! I appreciate the kind message and thoughts for him today! Have a great week:) xT

  8. I’m glad your Dad is doing ok !
Just a thought about taking a breather with creating new recipes .
I would love to see /rewatch some videos of your older recipes .
That might give you the needed break – maybe have a flashback Friday day or something .
Good luck to your Dad this week and loved the quick glance of Asher laughing in last instagram video

    1. Hi Kate,
Thanks for your message today and well wishes for my dad! Yes, such a great idea to be sharing some older recipes, I have been working on trying to revamp the older ones more often. I appreciate this feedback:) Happy Sunday! xT

    2. Sending best wishes to your Dad for a speedy recovery. He has a loving family to support him.
I have so enjoyed, too many to count, your recipes and clever baking. I do hope you continue to create fun holiday treats, along with having fun with fashion. Time to go dig out of snow.

      1. Hi Nancy,
Thank you for your kind message and well wishes for my dad today:) I appreciate you trying so many recipes! Good luck with your shoveling, hopefully you get some warm weather soon! xT

      2. Loving family!?!?? They’re all sitting around he struggles to clean up her mess in the kitchen with one arm. Actions speak SO much louder than words.

        1. What is WRONG with you? Life is too short. Try to make someone’s better today. Even if it’s your own. I’m sure you were raised better than this.

  9. Best wishes to your dad! I live in CO too (different region) and our area is definitely a medical backwater. I’m glad he got the right diagnosis.

    1. Hi Patty,
We appreciate your kind thoughts:) So scary to have to deal with the unknown, thank god for the doctors that were able to figure this out! Have a good Sunday! xT

  10. Since your dad is out of commission (best wishes to him!) I’d love to see your process while grocery shopping! Maybe you could take us along and film while at the store? I know you mentioned that your dad typically does your shopping, so I’d love to see your process while he’s recovering!

    1. Hi Kara,
Thanks for your well wishes and reading today:) Love this suggestion for sharing grocery shopping while he is in recovery, I will try adding this to my list this week over on IG. Happy Sunday! xT

  11. Best wishes to your Dad. Tell him to take some time to rest, no cleaning the kitchen!! (if he is like my Dad getting him to take it easy will be impossible!)

    1. Hey Kelly,
Thanks so much! Lol yeah I’ll have to kick him out of there at some point I’m sure:) Have a great week! xT
