Because when is double trouble ever not awesome?
Especially when chocolate and peanut butter are involved, you know?
Please, just tell me you understand. If you don’t, I may go on and on about chocolate and peanut butter and why the two together are shear perfection…
Since it’s Friday though, let’s just assume that everyone agrees: peanut butter + chocolate chunks = a cookie combo that never disappoints.
I made these cookies on a complete whim, simply because I was really just in the cookie baking mood. I had other things planned, but cookies pretty much took over my mind once the thought popped into my head. Cookies have a way of doing that .
I also really wanted to bake some cookie for back to school. Nothing is better than coming home from the first day of school to a batch of freshly baked cookies, and of course a glass of ice-cold milk. I mean, of course.
I may not be a school girl anymore, but I can still celebrate little Asher’s first day. Plus, it’s an excuse to make cookies, not that we need one around here.
Back when I was younger and my mom did all the baking in the house, cookies could appear at pretty much any given time. But the first day of school was a sure guarantee that there would be a fresh batch of her famous chocolate chip cookies when everyone returned home. Anyone who tastes her cookies knows they are the best.
No joke, the best. Even though I can make tons of desserts now, mom’s cookies are still my all time favorite. It’s the mother touch that does it for me.
But mom always just made chocolate chip cookies. She never ventured into the worlds of peanut butter, nutella, brown butter or funfetti, not even chocolate chunk. She is an awesome baker, but when it comes to cookies she sticks to what she knows. Me on the other hand? Well, I guess I am a little more daring than she is in the kitchen (which is weird since under any other circumstances she is the daring one).
Not that peanut butter cookies studded with chocolate chunks and Reese’s Pieces are anything bold or daring, but at least there is a little variation. Most importantly though?
They taste incredible. especially warm and right out of the oven when the chocolate is still melty. Oh my gosh, is there anything better? I think not.
The best part is that these cookies are sooo simple. Just ten minutes to prep and ten minutes to bake. No chilling time, minimal dishes (two bowls at most!) – nothing complicated.
Just the way a cookie recipe should be if you ask me.
And did I mention the chocolate chunks AND Reese’s Pieces?? Those two together are trouble makers – meaning those two together are the best! Yep, Chocolate Chunk Peanut Butter Honey Cookies, an easy way to kick off a deliciously gooey weekend!

Really, just look at that chocolate. I can’t even take it. Is it cookie time yet?
These look sooo perfect – I wish I was still in school so I’d have an excuse to gobble down a whole plateful. Curious – what’s the reason for double stacking them? Just a bigger cookie? Less spreading that way? You’ve totally got me wondering!
Hey Katie! I think it helps the cookies spread a little less.
Thanks so much! 🙂 Hope you had a great weekend!
So sad I can’t get my hands on reese’s pieces where I live 🙁
That is so sad, I am sorrY!
I have never seen the double stacking before! I will definitely be trying it!! Fantastic recipe.
Thanks Sarah! Hope you love these!
I would love nothing more than to come home from work to a massive plate of these cookies!
Wishing I could bake you a fresh batch!
The addition of honey in these sounds SO good! Honey + PB + chocolate… yum!!
Thank you! Hope you had a great weekend!
I will be making these for sure! Love the double stacking idea!
Thanks Kathy! Hope you love them!
One of my favorite cookies I’ve ever made were peanut butter cookies with honey and Reese’s pieces. It’s been a long time since I’ve made them though and I love the idea of adding chocolate chunks!
Thanks Erin!
Could I leave out the reeses pieces? Would I need to add more flour?
Of course, just sum more chocolate chunks or just leave them out completely. no added flour is needed. Hope you love these!
Every Friday should come with double trouble chocolate chunk peanut butter cookies! Chocolate and peanut butter should be a requirement on all the Fridays..and Mondays…all the days. These look sooooo goooooo!
Yes, it totally should! 🙂
These look so good with all the melty chocolate. I love Reese’s pieces which definitely are better (in my opinion) than reeses cups! I’m craving cookies lately and I need to do something about it!
Cookie cravings need to be meet!! Haha!
Thanks Bri!
I got all the ingredients in my pantry. Yeheey! I am so making this. Thank you.
ya! Hope you love them!
Reese’s pieces are my weakness…ate some last night…so this recipe is happening tomorrow at our house…these look perfect for a first day of school…
Thanks Lisa! Hope you loved them!
Looks de-lish!!
Thanks!
Holy moly, these look so, so good. This recipe is about to do serious damage to my pre-wedding diet. There is nothing better than a chocolate + peanut butter cookie!
Haha! Diets are no fun anyway! You need a little fun in there though, so these can be the fun!
Thanks Chelsea!
Great recipe – sometimes you just need some quick cookies!
Yup, cookies that can be ready in no time are a must! 🙂
Thanks!
