Hi, so the Brussel Sprouts were delicious right? And oh so healthy!
They are the perfect Thanksgiving side dish to compliment the delicious turkey. They will also help balance out all that yummy Chipotle and Cheddar Pumpkin Soup. Oh and we can not forget about the Pecan Pie Brownies that we have been secretly eating all day long!
So now that I gave you something green and healthy, it is time to get back to that comfort food we all crave during the holidays on those long winter nights!
This savory cobbler is the perfect easy dinner to make you feel all warm and cozy! It’s a lot like broccoli cheddar soup, but thickened up a bit and topped with flakey cheddar cheese biscuits. Then top it off with more cheddar cheese!
Hey there is a whole lot of broccoli in there, that counts for something right? Looking for some extra protein? Throw in some shredded chicken or you know what would be even better? That leftover turkey! Umm holly yum! What a great way to use up those leftovers!
Honestly though the whole family loved this casserole and is really easy to prepare. Especially after an extremely long day in the kitchen! I made ten and half pounds of buffalo chicken, two pans of buffalo chicken dip, two pans of a delicious chex mix recipe (will be sharing soon!) and 4 pans of bite size pumpkin pizzas!
Yeah, I know. That is a boat load of food! I do not even think the Holiday cheer meister and Mr. Grinch could eat all that food! Don’t worry we are not trying to go into a food comma, we will save that for Thanksgiving. Nope the food is for party. Let the holidays begin!

Is this dish supposed to have chicken in it? The recipe states to drop the dough onto the chicken and casserole mixture?

Ok, this might be a dumb question, but do you keep the soup condensed or mix w/ water like the can says to make soup?

This sounds soo good. Making for dinner tomorrow evening. I plan on cooking my broccoli beforehand to ensure that it gets done. How do you think it would be if I used garlic cheddar biscuits on top? We love garlic here at my house!

it was a hit in our house i will make it again for sure ,, just want to let you know you say cook time 25 min and bake for 40 to 45 min you may want to change that .. mine was done in 20 min …

Do you think that this recipe could be frozen before baking? i wonder if the biscuits would be wrecked if you froze it and then thawed it before baking it?
I can not say for sure, but i would think it would be fine. Give it a try and make sure to cook it longer. Also I would pre cook your broccoli before you add it to the final dish so you will not bite down on cold broccoli!
I cooked this for 45 minutes and the last 20 minutes I covered the dish but never could get the brocolli done…and my biscuits were hard on top after cooking so long. I plan to make this again but will almost fully cook the brocolli first and add cooked chicken in as well.
I used frozen broccoli for this, not fresh. The frozen broccoli must cook faster than fresh. Sorry I about that! I would roast the fresh broccoli with some olive oil, salt and pepper. I will also update the recipe. Let me know how the second try turns out!
I don’t think you have updated the recipe actually… I just popped the casserole in the oven and I used fresh broccoli, and I’m just now seeing that the broccoli should be pre-cooked. 🙁 Just gonna wait and see how it turns out

So I made this last night. It was very good and I will surely make it again. However, I suggest putting the soup mixture in the oven a bit longer before adding the biscuit dough on top. Or cook the broccoli a bit before anything. We wanted the broc to be a bit softer. I baked it at 400 degrees for 25 min. and that wasn’t nearly enough time. I took it out an realized that the soup was still a bit cold and only the top of the biscuits were baked. So, I put it back in the oven for another 20 min. So…cook broccoli first and leave in oven much much longer. It was so yummy! Like a pot pie! OH! I also added some chicken breast as well. Enjoy!
