Thanks for joining me for another Nine Favorite Things post.
Happy Memorial Day weekend everyone! I hope yours is going amazingly and you are enjoying some warm weather, friends, and family! I returned home from LA very, very, very early on Friday (meaning 2 am in the morning early), but woke up to the prettiest day I have seen all year long. It’s crazy what can happen in four days, but things here are green and blooming, the sun is shinning, and it’s days like these that there is truly no place I’d rather be than home in Colorado. Just trying to soak them all up because there are never enough of them!
In other news, my trip to LA was so fun and very productive (see more details below). One of the highlights of the trip was being able to meet so many of you at my signing at Shoppe Amber Interiors. Absolutely loved meeting and chatting with so many of you in person and can’t wait to do more events like this. I will be sharing photos from the event in next Sunday’s post as I don’t have the photos just yet, so stay tuned for that!
Coming up this week on HBH, we are skipping Memorial Day to encourage everyone to stay off their computer/phone and enjoy the day off to remember all those who have served our country. Coming up on Tuesday I’ll be sharing a new savory breakfast recipe, then moving along to a little bit of Italian, something healthy and delicious, and ending the week with a new recipe that I think will surprise you all! A fun week is ahead for sure.
In the meantime, if you happen to be meal planning for the week ahead, be sure to check out my menu plan for the week below (it’s #9 on my favorites list). I am also sharing a few last-minute Memorial Day recipes, so check those out too if you are in need of recipes for tomorrow’s fun!
And lastly, for those of you who may have missed some posts this week, sign up for my weekly recap newsletter to have all the posts from the week delivered to your inbox all in one email! You can sign up here.
Hope you all enjoy this week’s Favorites and have a great long weekend. See you on Tuesday!

2. Strawberry Shortcakes on Home & Family.
It seems every time I head to LA I have to stop in and say hi to the Home & Family crew and I think this last visit was one of my favorites yet. I made my Strawberry Bourbon Shortcakes and won everyone over with the bourbon strawberries (because they are the best). Thought I would share some behind the scenes photos from the day! Enjoy!
{what do you suppose I am saying here that is so exciting?!}

6. Favorite Beauty Buy of May…
This H2 Elemental Energy Hydrating Cloud Cream. I have been trying out a lot of new moisturizers for my face. I have really sensitive skin, so it’s been hard to find a product that doesn’t irritate my face and make it all red, which happens easily. That is until I came across this moisturizer. It’s on the pricier side, but it’s worth it and a little goes a long way.
My two minutes routine: I start with a clean face and a layer of this RMS beauty oil followed by this sunscreen. I like to let it sit for a few minutes, then I apply a layer of this hydrating cloud cream. Super simple but it works. I use the both the beauty oil and cloud cream morning and night. And if my skin is looking really tired, I love this jet lag mask.
Also want to note that I love this hydrating cream by Clinique that’s much more reasonable priced too.
Question: what are your favorite beauty products for heading into summer. Dying to know!

SO happy you had an amazing time in Los Angeles! It is such an action-packed city. Definitely hope you will come back and tour more fun restaurants and outdoor malls sometime! Anyhow, the Memorial Day recipes you recommended look great! I’d love to make the herby potato salad and your asada mushroom tacos!
I hope you love both of those recipes Cassie! Thank you! Also, I am so excited to go back and check out more!
I couldn’t find the link to the recipe for strawberry peach galette. Would love to have it. Thanks!
Hey Deb, the peach galette is in my cookbook and not on the blow. Please let me know if you have other questions. Thanks! 🙂
Has your appearance on Home & Family been aired yet? I would love to see it!
HI! It’s not being aired online or at least yet! I haven’t found it. Sorry!
Hey Tieghan,
I am not having great luck finding burrata cheese…..those I have tried are runny in the middle…. any recommendations? Although I live in Canada….I am often over the border to Michigan, so a US source would be good. Your thoughts?
And the pizza on today’s Nine Favourite Things looks amazing…..I just took some home made frozen pizza dough out to defrost….
Looking forward to your feedback!

P.s. Italy with your sister……priceless
HI! So have you tried asking your grocery if they could order it for you? A lot of times they will special order, free of cost! Hope this helps! And thank you so much for the kind words, so flattered!
