I know. All guacamole is ridiculously easy, but I really just did not know what to call it and was coming up with nothing creative. Sorry, I think my brain is fried. The end of the year can do that to ya. So this guac? There is nothing weird and nothing fancy about it. Although […]

Mom’s Secret Christmas Eve Chex Mix.

Mom’s Ridiculously Easy Butterscotch Monkey Bread.

Sometimes, you just should not mess with a good thing. Like your mom’s recipes. Especially when she only has a handful of them. Seriously, do not be stupid like me and try to make them better or give them more of a wow factor. It just does not work.

  • Creamy (garlic butter) Sun-Dried Tomato Tuscan Chicken and Orzo...tittle pretty much tells you all you need to know. This is kind of like your favorite Italian chicken and pasta dinner, but all made in one skillet and in under an hour too. It’s creamy, a little garlicky, lemony, and as close to perfect as it gets. Tip? Add crusty bread for scooping up that cream sauce. It’s very good. Recipe up on HBH - linked in profile. #f52grams #easyrecipes
  • Cream Cheese Swirled Chai Gingerbread Cake. It’s that time of year when nothing is better than baking all day long…enter this cake. It’s heavy on the ginger, made buttery with @landolakesktchn Extra Creamy Butter, swirled with cream cheese, just a little decadent, and just about as close to perfect as it gets. It’s generously drizzled with a buttery lemon glaze for a perfectly sweet and spiced gingerbread cake. It’s delicious. Sharing the recipe on HBH today - link in profile.  #sponsored
  • Caramelized Mushroom and Kale Pizza. Monday night is better with pizza. Truth. This is my favorite when the weather is cold. It's simple, but GOOD. Fresh herbs, balsamic mushrooms, kale, and 2 cheeses (because more cheese is always better). Every last bite is delicious. And there is kale...so it's almost like eating a salad. All about that balance. Recipe on HBH - linked in profile.  #f52grams #buzzfeast #imsomartha
  • 30 Minute Coq au Vin Chicken Meatballs. One of best recipes make for these cold December nights. It feels fancy…and cozy, but is ready in less than an hour and is the easiest to put together. The coq au vin sauce is KEY. It’s made with whole lot of red wine and it is loved by everyone…which is why I am making this for the fam over the holidays. Just one thing? Don’t skip the browned butter mashed potatoes. Everything is better with a side of creamy mashers. ENJOY. … … 1 1/4 pounds ground chicken or turkey 1 egg 1/3 cup Panko bread crumbs 1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese kosher salt and black pepper 2-3 slices thick-cut bacon, chopped 1 yellow onion, chopped 4 cloves garlic, minced or grated 4 carrots, chopped 2 cups cremini mushrooms, sliced 2 tbs tomato paste 1 1/2 cups dry red wine 1 cup low sodium chicken broth 2 bay leaves 4 thyme sprigs Add the chicken, egg, bread crumbs, parmesan, and a pinch each of salt and pepper to a bowl. Roll into tablespoon-size balls and place on a parchment lined baking sheet. Bake at 425 for 15 minutes. Cook the bacon in a large skillet until crisp. Remove the bacon and reserve. If there's excess bacon grease, drain off all but 1 tbs. Add the onion and cook for 5 minutes, until softened. Stir in the garlic, carrots, and mushrooms. Cook another 5 minutes. Add the tomato paste. Add the wine, chicken broth, bay leaves, and thyme. Season with salt and pepper. Bring the sauce to a boil, cook 10 minutes or until the sauce thickens slightly. Stir in the meatballs, cover and cook 5 minutes, until the meatballs are coated in the sauce. Remove the bay leaves and thyme. Stir in a handful of parsley and the bacon. Eat the meatballs and sauce over mashed potatoes. #recipevideo
