I’ve been keeping quiet about this pumpkin spice oatmeal latte, but now that October is here, it’s finally time to share the recipe with you guys!

I held out all September long, I didn’t share any pumpkin recipes…but now that we are two weeks into autumn, it’s time! And you guys? Let me put it this way, I have five too many pumpkin recipes to share this year. I don’t know what to do. I’m trying to space them out over the next two months, but I can’t share them all…because there is totally such a thing as too much pumpkin.

Thing is? I LOVE all pumpkiny the ideas.

Ugh. I can’t help it, fall recipes are my favorite. Please let me know in the comments what you’d like to see this month. Hoping you opinions can help me make some decisions.

Serious Question: How much pumpkin is too much? Still trying to figure this out…

Ok, and moving right along…

Ever since late last October, I’ve been dreaming about this pumpkin spice oatmeal latte. Yes, a full year ago. Here’s the thing, I first made this probably around the middle of last October, but I just never got the recipe or the photos the way I wanted to, and since neither were perfect I ended up scratching the latte because by the time November rolled around I was onto all things Thanksgiving (who’s excited…I am, but Halloween first!).

This year though, I was determined to share this fun latte recipe and I am happy to report that it is now perfected and delicious.

So, what is a pumpkin spice oatmeal latte?

Well, it’s pretty simple. Think of a pumpkin spice latte, add some oatmeal, whipped cream, and granola and you have the oatmeal version of a pumpkin spice latte…I know, kind of weird, but trust me on this.

It. Is. So. Good.

I was inspired to create this recipe by a little coffee shop in Breckenridge, Colorado, Cuppa Joe. They make an oatmeal latte that is probably one of the coziest things you could ever sip/eat on. If you’re in town visiting this fall, please go and try it for yourself. Yummm!

Their oatmeal latte kind of got me thinking, “what if I put a fall twist on this? Like um, pumpkin pie spice! yes, yes, yes, I need to do this”.

My brain, it’s weird, but at least it can come up with some pretty yummy recipes, so I got that going for me…

Anyway, once the idea was in my head, I knew it would be so good, and even though this recipe took a bit of time to perfect, it was well worth the wait.

Creating this latte is actually pretty easy. Just steam some milk with a little pumpkin, oats, pumpkin pie spice, and a splash of vanilla. Then give that milky/oaty mix a good whisk to create some foam. Then just pour into a mug, add espresso, and top with granola.

And yes, the granola is an absolute must. Again, just trust me.

You’ll want to both sip and use a spoon to consume this latte. The oats make it thick and creamy, almost like a smoothie, so it is still sipable, but you’ll be wanting a spoon for when you get down to the bottom of the mug. Those soaked oats and pieces of granola?

The best part.

And also? This is the perfect on-the go breakfast because you get your coffee and your oats all in one. Love.

So are you guys into this or what? I know the idea is a little out there, but I hope you will give it a try! It’s pretty much the perfect Tuesday treat, and that Starbucks pumpkin spice latte has nothing on this.

Nothing.

Lastly, I may just have a thing for creating homemade latte recipes, see this toasted coconut chocolate latte, this coconut pumpkin spice latte, and this gingerbread latte with caramel sugar (oh how I love that recipe).

And done. Happy Latte Tuesday!

I’m 2yrs late, but I found this recipe! It’s awesome! i cooked the oats a little longer than recommended because I wanted a thicker latte thing. Used oat milk rather than dairy milk and ultimately created a kinda of soupy oatmeal bowl – delicious! Great flavor combo ideas, thanks girl!

I don’t like the heat and im so ready for autumn and today the temperature dropped so I decided to finally try this and its AMAZING. I made the pumpkin puree myself & also just mixed everything for the pumpkin spice and its SO INCREDIBLY GOOD. Will definitely have this more often. Told some friends & they can’t wait to try it aka come to my place and have me preparing it for them.

Your time and effort was well worth the wait, I agree! This is delicious! Truly, I cannot get over how good this is. Thanks for all your creativity and sharing!

  5. Hi. I love all things pumpkin too, but would also love to see some Fall Brunch dishes, butternut squash recipes, and my favorite ingredient Potatoes!! My ultimate comfort food! I made homemade pumpkin pies last month from a sugar pumpkin grown in our organic garden at church. Process was a 1/2 day event, but the outcome was super delicious and so different from canned pumpkin pie! Loved them! Thank you for your delicious recipes!

    1. I think the microwave would work. Please let me know if you have any other questions. I hope you love this recipe. Thanks so much! xTieghan

  6. This looks truly amazing – can’t wait to try it on oatmeal day. Once, i was eating oatmeal and drinking a chai latte, and the oatmeal was a little dry, so i poured some of the chai latte in and it was delish. Surely not as good as this recipe, but a similar idea, so I’m betting your recipe tops it by a mile+.
One more thing: for people not big on dairy, surely macadamia milk would be amazing for this…. (That’s what i’ll use.)

  7. How are you making your espresso in this? (Or are you just using strong black coffee?) I’m debating getting a Moka Pot, an AeroPress, or investing in an espresso machine…not sure yet! Right now all I own is a french press.

    1. just use strong black coffee as I dont have an espresso maker. The french press will be great!! Please let me know if you have other questions. Hope you love this recipe! Thanks! 🙂

I was on your website and read it thoroughly. I just want to say that it is the best read of the day. Keep updating me.

  9. This was really great!!! Made for kids movie night lol! watched Paranorman. Made cinnamon whipped cream to go on top. Son wanted drizzle caramel syrup too, lol. This is like drinking fall in a cup. Love the crunchy granola on top too.
    Will make again!!!!
    Thank you!

  10. OK, I usually drive myself crazy sifting through all the ‘oooooh, this looks great!’ posts to find someone who has actually tried it… and now I’m doing the exact same thing, HA! It does look great, and I love oatmeal lattes- my daughter always requests the one from How Sweet It Is, and I’m making this one next week for a fall twist! I’ll report back! But the real lame reason for my comment- the print button seems to not be functioning? I’m a paper-recipe-in-my-binder kind of girl, so I really want to print! Could be my finicky printer, but I wanted to see if the problem was on your end. THANKS, Teighan!!

    1. Hi Kate! I am so glad you are liking this recipe and I hope it turns out amazing for you! The printer button is working for me, try it again and let me know!

    1. I have not, but I am sure it would be delicious! Please let me know if you have any other questions. Hope you love this recipe! 🙂
