Nine Favorite Things

Only one week away from you all, and we have so much to share! We didn’t do a Favorite’s post last week since it was Easter Sunday. I hope you all had a nice holiday with your families, whether you celebrate or not.

We’re back at it after the busiest week that threw me a serious curve ball. If you read the last favorite’s post, I shared that I was traveling to New York this week to shoot a big project. Well, I did just that. I was so excited for this shoot and we’ve been preparing for it for weeks. It was something new and so different for me, but I was SURE it was going to work out and be amazing.

But you know what, sometimes things just aren’t meant to be. After the first day of the shoot, I knew that in order to get this project done to the standards I hold myself to, I needed to pivot. The shoot just wasn’t flowing the way it needed to, and my photos didn’t look the same. My work just wasn’t “my work”. I knew in my gut that as much as I wanted to make this work, I needed to do this shoot from home, in my space. So here I am, unexpectedly back at home.

While I’m disappointed, I knew I had to pivot and adjust. Things don’t always work out the way we planned. At the time, you may not understand why. But hopefully, down the road you’ll understand why things happened the way they did.

I’m keeping my head up and working like a crazy girl, but I’m happy with my decision. I know it’s what needed to be done!

I do still have a little bit of fun travel ahead. I’m heading to LA this week for the launch of our menu collaboration with Fig Restaurant in Santa Monica. I’m so excited! It’s going to be a packed few days.

Oh, and I’m looking forward to some warm weather, too!

After LA I’m home for a couple of days and then back to NYC for a few days. Everyone in the family is all over the place. My mom, dad, Creighton, Asher, and Oslo are in San Miguel, Mexico, which they say is amazingly beautiful. Then they’re off to visit my grandpa in the Caribbean.

How about you all? Are you traveling this month? Staying put? What’s something that makes you the happiest right now?

I hope you all are having the best start to April! Spring is here, and I’m so happy it is! Enjoy another fun favorite post! I have lots to share below.

1. Things I’m loving, wanting, and excited to try.

random, but fun…Quiz: What Should Your Next Mani Be? I got stormy grey, which I kind of love. So that’s my next nail color for sure.

everything in my cart (low)…ordering this quilted jacket from Zara. Plus, this white sleeveless mini dress, red mini dress, flowy top (cute color), and heeled toe sandals. So cute for spring!

Ok, and some workout pieces, because it’s spring and time to get back outside. Loving how cute this Alo set is. I’m ordering the iconic 90s bra and these capri pants. Also, this Beyond Yoga racerback cropped tank I found on Amazon is super cute.

listening to…Kelly LeVeque, Clinical Nutritionist: Optimizing Protein For Women, Blood Sugar Balance, Post Ozempic Maintenance, & More. I know Kelly personally and she is a wealth of knowledge. I loved this episode and found it to be so valuable if you’re interested in upping your nutrition.

dreaming of going…Harbour Island, Bahamas. Need to stay at the Rosalita House. Maybe in May. You all, I need a tropical vacation!

reading…How to Dry Dahlia’s – so cute. Dahlias are probably my favorite flower.

shopping…these cute ink pens and vintage coupe glasses on Amazon.

watching…Inside Gisele Bündchen’s New Miami Home—And See Her Most Prized Possessions. Ok, so pretty! I need to live in Miami!

travel…Where to See 2024’s Magnificent Total Solar Eclipse. Check out the locations around the US. Shout out to all my family in Cleveland, you all are in a great spot to view the eclipse! So is my family, who are currently in Mexico – so cool!

everything in my cart (beauty)…the Yves Saint Laurent libre eau de parfum sounds wonderful for spring. I want to start wearing perfume more often.

Very curious to try the Tenoverten celery oil for your nails. It’s supposed to lock in moisture, which is exactly what I need.

I love these big effing claw clips for travel days. It’s so easy to just throw your hair up before a flight. They come in so many fun colors and patterns. Another must for travel are the Slip small scrunchies. I’ve been using them a lot recently to hold my braids in place.

If you’re going on spring break, you need these body self-tan drops from Tan Luxe and + Lux Unfiltered Nº12 bronzing face drops. And the Dior lip glow balm is currently on sale. I would highly recommend getting one of these too.

And if you love a “get ready with me” video, I thought this was cute, How Millie Bobby Brown Gets Ready for Date Night.

I want to watch…Palm Royale. Is anyone watching this? I’m so curious about it, but we don’t have Apple TV!

everything in my cart (high)…for all the brides to be, this Staud beaded tule mini dress would be so pretty for a wedding shower, rehearsal dinner, or even a more casual wedding.

shopping…new arrivals on Zara Home.

5. What Are Your Family’s Go-To Dinners?

This is such a fun question and I’m so curious to hear your responses. My family’s go-to dinners are as follows…

Growing up, my dad would make potato chip chicken at least once a week—ah, actually more like twice a week—always with a side of rice. Of course, there were also his classic crispy beef tacos and his beloved Friday Night Pasta dish.

These days, I make a lot of pasta alla vodka, buffalo chicken, and crispy tacos. Creighton requests stuffed peppers (I have several) and my chili with beer bread often too. These are the family’s GO-TO dinners.

Your turn!

What dinners do you make all the time, what are your staple recipes?

  1. A shame you’e have had to change your plans, but you know your work the very best, and if you think it needs to change, it does. Good luck with it all 😊

Loving your flower pictures and the bunch from your Mum for Easter too.

    Have a great week. Xx

    1. Hi Kelly-Jane,
Thanks so much for reading today and sharing your positive feedback:) Glad you enjoyed the flowers pictures, nothing better this time of year! Have the best Monday! xT

  2. Aw, this article made me sad. I’m sorry your time in New York wasn’t what you thought it would be :(. Sometimes things have to get a little messy before they get better than we can ever dream of. And sometimes life has plans that are far better than anything we’ve dreamed of. Please give yourself some grace and remember that everything will be ok. You don’t need validation from others, you just need to believe in yourself, your health, your well being and your happiness. Whatever doesn’t serve you well in those goals, isn’t worth your time. Remember to be kind to yourself, and know that you are more than just the content you put out, the blog you run, the recipes you create, the clothes you wear, and so on. You are wonderful and radiant when you let yourself shine and show up authentically, and sometimes it takes a bit of vulnerability to achieve that happiest version of you. It’s ok to be anxious and have setbacks, but just remember that we all want you to be happy, healthy, and successful, and whatever that means for you, is something that will be supported. Perfection is not real. And remember it is ok to ask others for help, and to take time for yourself away from others’ expectations. Your health, healing, and happiness are worth it and the world deserves to see the happiest version of you.

Wishing you warmth and joy and support. <3

    1. Thank you so much for your heartfelt message, Katy:) This really is so kind and I appreciate you taking the time to write and sharing positive thoughts regarding the photoshoot. I hope you are having a great Monday! xT

  3. Hey Teighan,

    Another awesome 9FT post 🙂
After reading some of the comments about your podcast with Martha Stewart I was curious to listen to it….I loved it! Contrary to people saying Martha was correcting you etc etc I think it was awesome that two such successful entrepreneurs were sharing knowledge and educating each other as well as the audience. Such a great chat
And again, kudos for making the call to move your photo shoot home…staying true to what you do!!
    Have a great week
    X

    1. Hi Arna,
Thanks so much for taking the time to read:) Glad to hear you enjoyed listening to the podcast! Yup, I totally agree with how you felt about that, it was nice to just have a conversation with her. Hope you are off to a great week! xT

  4. Tieghan! I just realized you were in NYC at the same time as Selena Gomez’s Rare Beauty pop up event! I was wondering if you went? Knowing that you and Benny are such close friends, I’m wondering if you went if you weren’t too busy. And would love to hear how it was if you did! 🙂

    1. Are they close friends?! I always thought Benny was more of a colleague. I assumed the food videos were more of a business collab! Have I missed posts of T and Benny hanging out organically? I guess my business brain always assumes those videos are contract based lol!

    2. Hey Amanda,
I actually didn’t know about it, so I didn’t go:) I bet it was a fun night though! Hope you are having a great Monday! xT

  5. How did the director of your ny shoot feel about the cancelation? It seems like there was so much expensive camera equipment set up! I’m sure it was very disappointing for all the other partners involved! Being a team player and pushing through adversity is the sign of a strong business owner! Best of luck on the project though!

    1. Hi Carol,
I honestly didn’t know that it was coming out:) Let me know if you give it a listen! xx

  6. When I try printing out the recipes I keep getting “powered by Juniper” and can print. How do I get the old format?

    1. Hey Linda,
Thanks so much for your comment today and sorry for any confusion when printing! This is our new format, Jupiter allows readers to order ingredients for the recipes. If you don’t want to do that, you can simply click “print” on the recipe card and then “print” again on the Jupiter page and it should print correctly for you! I hope this helps! xT

  7. Why haven’t you promoted your collab with Fig? This is the first I’ve heard of it. I’m not surprised you haven’t mentioned the Martha Stewart podcast. That was a rough one for you! Did you really think you invented the cheesecloth method?

    1. It was so great to hear Martha correct Tieghan so many times on things she said that weren’t accurate.

  8. Enjoying Nine Favorite Things as always. Ordered from Alo for the first time. I’ve heard good things. I, too, wanted to watch Palm Royale but don’t have Apple TV. I want to watch Feud, the Swans as well, mainly for the clothes and actors. Love all you do to bring beauty into our lives whether it be food, clothes or photos and ideas.

    1. Hey Candace,
So glad to hear you enjoyed today’s post:) I hope you love your Alo order, I love their products. I’ll let you know if I end up watching Palm Royale! I hope you have a great Sunday! xT

  9. Hey Teighan, thanks for another great 9FT post. I always discover so many new to me ideas and sources for things I love. This one had me reading for a few hours bc I kept clicking links within links…LoL. Now I’ve found a source for incense that will totally elevate my home fragrance experience…Nickey Kehoe. You should check out their site. Tasteful home goods galore.

One question: do you drink Matcha? I’ve recently discovered Matcha Lattes made with Oatmilk. Its my new morning beverage.

Oh yeah…after looking at your photo shoot photos and I totally get why you came back to the mountain studio. There is nothing like the quality of sunlight and ambience of the mountains. Plus I love how you stack all sorts of glassware to enhance the natural lighting. Pure genius! It absolutely excels above and beyond what you were getting in the NYC studio. Although it was an amazing space it just didn’t have that HBH vibe! Good for you to be courageous and follow your gut straight back home! Have an awesome week!

    1. Hey Tiffany,
Thanks a lot for reading today:) I love that you enjoy these posts as much as I do and that you are able to find new ideas from the links that are shared. I will check out the Nickey Kehoe site, thanks for sharing. I don’t drink matcha, but I know a lot of people love it so maybe it’s worth a try! I appreciate your feedback on the photoshoot…I work really hard to make my photos a special way and I’m so glad you are able to see that. I hope you have a great week! xT
