  • Spiced Pecan Apple Cider Doughnut Cake. Because nothing is better than Sunday baking in the fall. This is a new favorite. The key is ripple of sweet maple throughout the center of the cake makes it gooey and so dang good. And then well, butter and apples, and a good amount of cinnamon sugar too. Make this please. It will make your Sunday...and the leftovers are good all week long. Full recipe with details on HBH (link in profile). 🍎🍂
For the batter, beat together:
12 tablespoons soft salted butter
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 large eggs, at room temperature
1/2 cup apple butter
1 cup apple ciderAdd in:
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon kosher saltMix streusel:
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 stick (8 tablespoons) cold butter cubed
2 honeycrisp apples, chopped
1 cup pecans, roughly choppedMix Maple sauce:
1/3 cup maple syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 large eggLayer 1/2 the batter, then 3/4 of the streusel, and all of the maple sauce. Cover with the remaining batter, add the remaining streusel. Bake at 375 for 55-60 minutes. Let cool 10 minutes and then invert the cake onto a plate. Brush the with melted butter, then sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Eat warm and enjoy!! #eatingfortheinsta #recipevideo #instayum #applecake
  • October nights require a good cocktail, enter the “Sleepy Hollow” Cocktail. An "eerie" name for a dang good tequila cocktail because I like to have fun with these drinks...but I like to make them GOOD 🎃 made with rosemary, orange infused honey, a good shot of tequila, a splash of pomegranate, some other things, and finished with an extra fancy sugared rim (mostly because it’s fun). Kind of like a margarita, but dressed up for October. Recipe on HBH - linked in profile. PS. I had the HARDEST time name this. What would you call this drink??   • It is FREEZING here…think single digits cold! Sooo, I’m making my 3 Cheese Stuffed Shells, because when it’s this cold, you make cheesy pasta. To me this dish is kind of like cheese filled ravioli, but without all the work. These shells are beyond good (the sauce is everything...and it's all made in 1 skillet…easy).
