Sweet, simple, and delicious, Baked Strawberry Glazed Doughnuts. We all love a classic strawberry glazed doughnut, but making them at home? Yep, even better. Homemade baked strawberry doughnuts with both strawberry jam and dried strawberries for double the strawberry flavor. These light pink berry-filled doughnuts are glazed with a cream cheese strawberry icing, and they do not disappoint. Each sweet bite is perfectly soft, doughy, and topped with a creamy glaze – so good!

I’ve wanted to make doughnuts all summer long. I’ve had ideas from banana bread, to chocolate-coated doughnuts, and everything in between.

But then the new Rhode strawberry glaze lip treatment launched and the second I saw those Krispy Kreme doughnuts, I was sold. I had to make strawberry glazed doughnuts. But BAKED, because I actually think they’re better than fried.

And a side note here, Rhode sent me the new strawberry glaze and it’s my favorite lip treatment yet. The color is gorgeous! I’d join that waitlist you all. It’s a SOLID product that once you try you’ll love.

It’s funny the things that can excite me and how they end up inspiring me. Fashion and beauty always give me my favorite ideas, so I LOVED creating this recipe.

These doughnuts are so yummy. Personally, I think they’re even better than the originals at Krispy Kreme.

Some details

Step 1: make the batter

For the doughnut batter, it’s pretty simple. Mix melted butter with vanilla, two large eggs, honey or maple syrup (for added sweetness), your favorite strawberry jam, and some milk.

That’s all your wet ingredients. For the dry, I love to use whole wheat pastry flour, a spoonful of freeze-dried strawberries, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Mix the wet and dry until just combined.

Step 2: bake

Once the batter is ready to go, bake it in a doughnut pan. If you don’t have a doughnut pan, make doughnut holes using either a regular muffin pan or a mini muffin pan. Either option works just the same.

Step 3: the strawberry glaze

This is the most important step. The glaze really makes these doughnuts delicious.

Mix cream cheese with sweet sugar, more strawberry powder, and vanilla. And honestly, the doughnut holes always turn out cute!

Dip the baked doughnuts into the glaze, then let the glaze set up for a few minutes. Not too strong, not too sweet, but just right. Especially when spread on top of a warm doughnut.

Made these this morning and oh my God!!! I didn’t have a donut pan, so I used a muffin tin. The only downsize to that is the icing to cake ratio isn’t as evenly distributed as I imagine it would be on a donut. Nonetheless, it was heavenly, especially that icing! I’m so glad I read the reviews beforehand or I would have dumped all 1/4 cup of the milk into the bowl. I barely used half of the liquid to make it really thick. Thank you for this recipe, and I love that it uses natural sugar in the cake!

What a crowd pleaser! They came out so delicious, especially the icing! In my first batch I overfilled the pan so they turned out like little cakes but the second batch was perfect. Thank you for the wonderful recipe.

  3. Delicious! My glaze wasn’t as thick and pink as yours so I think maybe less milk would help? My toddler loved making and eating these together!

The recipe was ok. I don’t think it’s worth the time to make these again. The doughnut is lacking flavor and the icing is more sugar flavor than strawberry.

I saw this on an Instragram post, and with granddaughters arriving from Whistler, I jumped on it! They were all finished, and I was cleaning up, within 30 minutes. The only change I made was to use freeze dried raspberries, and raspberry jam, as that is what I had. That icing is a game changer – so so so good.

  5. So delicious! Made them with my granddaughter today and we had so much fun. We used a mini pan and it yielded 24 donuts and a little individual mini cake. We sprinkled some of the strawberry powder on top and it was just beautiful. Thanks for giving us this recipe and a day of memories.

  6. I have fond memories of going to my Nana’s house and eating fried donuts made out of biscuit dough for breakfast. My Nana is also known for her homemade strawberry cake, so these donuts are a combination of my Nana’s best recipes! I have never made baked donuts, so I look forward to trying this recipe.

  7. The link for freeze dried strawberry powder leads to Good and Gather freeze dried slices. Is that what you are referring to? Thank you! Can’t wait to make these!

  8. Super excited to make these. They look delicious! Quick question. What’s the unit of measurement for the strawberry jam?

I’m going to try making these gluten free. I LOVE donuts! Using freeze dried strawberries is how I make strawberry buttercream too. The flavor is so intense and delish!

      1. Hi There!

We have an egg allergy. Do you think they would turn out with flax egg or would you suggest something different ?

        Thank you!

        1. Hey Angie! I personally haven’t tried this with flax egg so I can’t say for sure! Let me know if you give it a try! xT
