Can you guys believe that Halloween is Friday?
It seriously boggles my mind. How is time going by so fast. I am already working on holiday foods. No really, I am. That is what I spent Friday doing and I have to say, I kind of loved every second of it. Holiday freak over here.
So let’s talk Halloween. I love Halloween and seeing as there is so much cool stuff floating around on this big old internet of ours I thought it’d be fun to throw in a few spooky links this week. You’re never too old for a little Halloween fun… or candy. Just sayin.
First up though, this Spicy Chipotle Pumpkin Hummus. It’s so autumn like and so good. Adding pumpkin to hummus only makes things creamier, smoother and just plain better. Then throw in a few chipotle peppers and YUM.

Unfortunately I can’t recommend this one. I have tried many of your recipes and absolutely love them, but this one was disappointing. the flavour profile was bizarre and the texture was strange. Will totally try another one and hopeful it’ll turn out better!
Oh no I’m so sorry this recipe wasn’t enjoyed! Thanks so much for letting me know xTieghan
So good! Pumpkin goes perfect with chipotle and your chipotle mix is devine! I love the addition of the honey. I ate this with carrots and some chips. Then I decided to just eat it with a spoon it’s so good. As always, your spice mixes are on point!
Hi there! I’m so happy you enjoyed this recipe, thanks so much for giving it a try! ? xTieghan
Just made this and the flavor is good but it came out really liquidy. Is there a difference between pumpkin puree and canned pumpkin? I used organic pumpkin, it didn’t say puree anywhere on the can but I assumed they were the same thing.
Hey Lina,
Totally fine to use that, so sorry this came out liquidy! Did you adjust the recipe at all? Too much olive oil? Let me know how I can help! xTieghan
Just made with some leftover Chipotle’s I needed to finish up. Wonderful, looking forward to eating all week!
I am so glad you liked this Carolyn! Thank you!
Hi Tieghan!
I’d love to include your spicy chipotle pumpkin hummus in a savory pumpkin roundup I’m doing for Parade Magazine.
If you’re fine with it, could I use one of your gorgeous photos with a link back to your original post (https://www.halfbakedharvest.com/spicy-chipotle-pumpkin-hummus-halloween-links/)?
Let me know, thanks!

I’m a holiday freak too so I totally love the early holiday prep involved in food blogging, but unfortch it means I’m eating like it’s Thanksgiving/Christmas for WEEKS. I love it, my skinny jeans do not lol
Haha! I love it too. Nothing better! 🙂

A friend asked me if she could replace the coffee in your molten chocolate cake with more buttermilk??? I send your recipes to my friends and she loves chocolate but hates coffee.
Thanks for so many recipes to look at.
I’ve always wanted to try pumpkin hummus so I will start there.
We are having Indian Summer now hope your day is wonderful too.
Hey Nancy! Yes, she can use another 1/4 cup buttermilk. No big deal.
Thanks so much and enjoy your Indian Summer!
