Hey, hey from South Korea!!

Hey guys, I’m just stopping bye today for a quick post to update you all with what’s been happening here in Korea. Today was an incredibly amazing day. We just returned back to our hotel after watching my younger brother Red make finals after today’s Olympic Men’s Snowboarding Slopestyle Qualifiers. Red qualified third and ended up being the only American to make finals. Pretty Surreal.

I just wanted to share some photos here from the last couple days, including Opening Ceremonies. I’ll be back with another update and more photos from tomorrow’s finals later this week!

Happy Sunday!

  1. I just saw that your brother won the gold!!!!! Congratulations to him and to your family as well!! Also, just to let you know I saw the story on the site for USA Today News, and they mention that you, his sister, are a cookbook author and blogger, and do a direct link to a YouTube video with you and him! How awesome! Just wanted to share and congratulate you both!

  2. CONGRATULATIONS!!! Just happened to turn TV on and they announced your little brother’s run. Sooooo exciting to watch him win GOLD for the USA! Looks like a super support team as well ?

  3. So excited for your family and Red! Congratulations on taking the GOLD last night. We’ve been cheering for him from Phoenix! Have a wonderful trip.

  4. When he won the gold it was the best feeling in the world. So happy for him and you all. Wow, what a week. My football team won the Superbowl and Red won a gold medal. Life is good! I am loving your pictures. Keep them coming!

  5. OMG, what a surreal experience for Red & your family. Congratulations to you all, but mostly to Red, for having so much fun (he doesn’t seem to consider this to be any kind of work! lol) Thanks for posting all the pics, your family looks nothing less than awesome! Two things I noticed are 1. The Gerard kids all look SO much alike! & 2. It looks miserably cold there! Again, CONGRATS & hoping you are truly enjoying your time away from the barn and your hectic schedule!!!! This is so freakin cool!!!

  6. We’ve already seen he’s won his first Gold Medal, so this has already got to be the most awesome trip for you all! Congratulations to Red, and Good Luck for his next runs! I hope you all continue to have a grand time and a safe trip home.

  7. Thanks for taking the time to share what must now be an even more amazing experience for you and your family. Congratulations to Red and to the whole Gerard family! I can only imagine what the post event celebrating was like. But as you said, it probably is surreal, too.Just like a few others have said, I felt like I was cheering on someone that I know. He made it look so easy! Will be sending all good vibes out to him for the Big Air event. Your backyard snowboard park may be even more popular now. You may be cooking for even more people!

  8. Red Rocks ! Congrats to him and the entire family for being there with him. Can’t wait to celebrate in Silverthorne upon your return.

  9. Congratulations to your brother! It was great to watch his amazing performance. Dreams become reality when you believe and give it your all!
