Every good party needs a great cocktail, and this Holiday Pear Sangria is just that. It’s my favorite festive drink to serve up this season. White wine mixed with pear brandy, fresh pears, cranberries, winter citrus, spices, and a splash of ginger beer. It’s sweet, refreshing, so easy to make, and perfect for all holiday parties.

To celebrate the season, I recently traveled to New York City to host a very fun and special holiday event and cookbook signing with Harry & David. I walked everyone through how I create the perfect holiday cheese board, signed books, and chatted the night away. It was so fun to get meet some of you in person, and to hear your stories of how you came to find me and Half Baked Harvest. It was truly such a special night. I’m SO grateful for all of you who continue to read and make HBH recipes in your kitchen.

As mentioned, I teamed up with Harry & David to create a festive holiday cheese board. To go along with it, I created this sweet pear sangria you see here. Both of which were served at the event. This sangria is one of my favorites, it’s great for easy holiday entertaining!

To make this sweet pear sangria, simply mix white wine with a little apple or pear brandy, then add in seasonal fruits like pears, cranberries, and winter citrus. I love topping my sangria off with ginger beer for a nice spicy kick. So delicious and refreshing.

You can make this up to couple of days ahead, perfect for the busy hostess.

  1. I make an overnight breakfast casserole every year. In the morning, it bakes while we open presents. One year, I thought everyone would like it if I changed it up – wrong! I had a Christmas breakfast mutiny – lesson learned #tradition

  2. My favorite holiday tradition is setting a night a side to bake my husband’s grandmother’s sugar cookies from her recipe and decorate all the cookies with the family. Merry Christmas!

  3. My favorite tradition is literally just waking up with my entire family in one house. Now that I have nieces and nephews, it makes it even more special.

  4. Watching National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation on Christmas Night! Everyone recites the lines because we’ve all seen it so many times!

  5. Christmas Eve we attend candlelight service and sister serves her best lasagna. Yummmmmmmm. Will be planning on making a new drink this year to go with. Your sangria is beautiful.

  6. Baking and decorating Christmas Cookies on Christmas Eve with my children while we listen to Christmas music!

  7. My favorite holiday tradition is Christmas Eve dinner. It’s one of the few times of the year where the whole family is together and we always have delicious soup and a variety of appetizers!

This post rocks for so many reasons. 😀 Fave Christmas traditions are putting on “Christmas Jammies” (usually red, and flannel) putting up lights, baking, having a small cocktail dinner party with friends, and now, making this BOMB looking sangria.

I also really like Molly’s tradition of Mai-Thai’s and Sushi at the bar. Might wanna try that this year as well. Never can have too many celebrations!
