Nine Favorite Things | halfbakedharvest.com

Wow, you guys, I was just looking back at the Sunday Favorites post from exactly one year ago, and the very first line said: โ€œWow, Iโ€™ve officially decided I need to move to Palm Beachโ€ฆI thrive here! The warmth, the sunshine, the flowers, the palm trees, and yes, even the humidity (my skin loves it!)โ€ฆI love it!โ€

Reading that back now feels like such a pinch-me moment. I may not be in Palm Beach, but I think Miami Beach is close enough. A few people in my life have told me Iโ€™m a master manifestor, whether intentional or not. I donโ€™t know if Iโ€™d go that far, but looking at where I am now, maybe theyโ€™re seeing something Iโ€™m not. Just one year later, and somehow I really did manage to get myself to Florida.

And itโ€™s wonderful.

I spent a quick seventy-two hours in Los Angeles this week for a really fun and exciting meeting. Between flights Tuesday and Thursday, I was really only in LA for Wednesday before heading right back home to Miami. And while I was genuinely so excited to be there for such a cool opportunity, I honestly could not wait to get back. If thereโ€™s one thing I know about myself, itโ€™s that Iโ€™m very much an East Coast kind of girl.

With the shorter week and a couple days of travel, the week flew by. We had such an awesome Memorial Day. I made a full spread and had so much fun putting everything together. We did my Nonnieโ€™s slow-cooked BBQ ribs, which are made with just three ingredients. I also served hot dogs. I used Force of Nature grass-fed beef sausage, but their hot dogs are great too. We added homemade spicy pickle relish, prosciutto, and I even topped a few with cheese. I made my crispy English roast potatoes, grilled corn, a huge cherry tomato salad with basil vinaigrette, and homemade cornbread (here’s a good muffin option). It was all so good!

And for dessert, Momโ€™s chocolate chip cookie bars.

The only bummer was that the grill ran out of propane, so instead of actually grilling everything, I had to get a little crafty and use the oven. Not ideal, but it all still turned out delicious.

I got home just in time to shower and have a late dinner with my family. I really love being so close to them. It feels so special, and I feel really lucky to have this time together because I know itโ€™s going to be short-lived.

Both my family and I will be traveling a lot this summer. Iโ€™ll be joining them for a week of travel and heading to Europe in both July and September. Itโ€™ll all be fun, but Iโ€™m definitely soaking in the time we have together now.

As we head into June, Iโ€™m really looking forward to sharing more summery recipes. Iโ€™ve been grilling a lot here in Miami!

What are your plans for June? Hosting anything fun? Making something delicious? Iโ€™d love to hear what youโ€™re all up to this month.

Wishing you all a lovely Sunday!

1. Things Iโ€™m Loving.

styling with…my sister, Asher found the cutest Bedside Table with a pretty Carrara Marble top from Soho home. We’re both so in love with it and might get a matching set!

everything in my cart (low)โ€ฆReformation has incredible pieces for summer. I could share so many! I’m seeing a lot of dresses (sharing more wedding ideas below). I think this Oren Silk Dress is great for a summer bridesmaid dress or a fancier wedding guest dress. I love this Stelliana Silk Dress in all three colors. Add a heel for a dressier look or wear it with sandals during the day. And this is a cute Mini Dress for date night! Not the lowest prices, but quality pieces and super cute!

summer travel…at this point, I could certainly do a whole post on summer travel. Something I love doing late at night is exploring different places around the world and looking at each location’s nicest hotels. I LOVE finding a really great hotel. This summer we have different European plans. Next summer, I’d love to try something from this travel itinerary. Beyond Saint-Tropez – Hereโ€™s Why You Should Explore This Corner of the French Riviera This Summer.ย Pretty! I also love that it’s a bit off the beaten path, so less crowded.

giftingโ€ฆthis funย Butter Knife to a friend I work with in Austin. She is going to love it. We both obsess over really good SALTED BUTTER.

everything in my cart (beauty)โ€ฆI finished off my favorite 111 skin face mask while in LA. I need to order more. I’m also going to try this Medicube Jelly Gel Mask with Salmon DNA PDRN Pink Collagen. Apparently, Dua Lipa loves it!

Now that summer is here, everyone is talking sunscreen. One of my favorites is the Tatcha Milky Sunscreen SPF 50+. I also love everything from Molly Simsย line YSE, and theirย Skin Glow SPF 30 Tinted Sunscreen Primer with Niacinamide doesn’t disappoint. It’s nice if you want to skip using foundation.

watchingโ€ฆnothing. I feel like I need to start watching something though. I’m trying to take more time away from work for the summer, but I have no idea what to watch. I’m not a reality TV girl, and the true crime stuff is just not my thing. Help!

everything in my cart (high)โ€ฆI don’t love designer bags with logos, but I do think this Gucciย Paparazzo Medium Top Handle Bag is really pretty and will be a classic Gucci bag.

followingโ€ฆWoฬˆlffer Estate Vineyard.ย Some of you might remember, a couple of summers ago, I hosted aย dinner with Woฬˆlffer Estates. We created a beautiful menu and table, and, of course, they serve their great wines! I love following their account this time of year. It’s full of gorgeous photos of the vineyard, their horses, their wines, and the prettiest flowers! We love their Landius Pinot Noir,ย Malbec 2022, and I wear myย Wรถlffer Green Trucker Hat every morning on my walks.

4. My Summer Bucket List.

Friday Night Summer Drinks

Iโ€™ve been having so much fun mixing up both alcoholic and zero-proof drinks before dinner on Friday and Saturday nights. Iโ€™m making it a weekly summer tradition.

Farmers Markets

I still havenโ€™t explored any of the farmers’ markets in Miami yet, so this is definitely high on my summer bucket list.

Dinner Outside, Grilling, and Creating Summer Moments

My happy place. Iโ€™m so excited to spend more evenings dining outside, grilling, lighting candles, setting pretty tables, and creating beautiful little summer moments all season long.ย

Host a Summer Dinner Party

Iโ€™m planning something cute in a few weeks and canโ€™t wait to share more later this summer!

Homemade Ice Cream

I don’t have an ice cream maker, but I do have plenty of no-churn recipes. Love this Strawberry No Churn, or maybe I’ll make my Nonnieโ€™s 6 Ingredient Chocolate Peanut Butter Ice Cream Cake.ย What’s your favorite ice cream flavor?

Start a Summer Journal

Already doing this and honestly loving it.

Work Outside as Much as Possible

Iโ€™m actually writing this outside while the sun sets. Summer evenings are just too good to spend indoors.

Go Horseback Riding

This is high on my list. I rode a little when I was younger, and I think Iโ€™d really love getting back into it. I need a hobby!

Fresh Flowers All Summer Long

My goal is to always have fresh flowers around the house. Pretty stems make me so happy.

Go Berry or Peach Pickingโ€ฆor Both!

Iโ€™ve only ever been apple picking, so this summer Iโ€™d love to find a berry farm or peach orchard.

Say Yes to Something I Would Have Previously Said No To

Iโ€™m embracing new experiences, new ways of thinking, and new ways of living this summer. Miami Tieghan is maybe just a little different.

Listening to The Signs

Connecting with the child within me. Allowing myself to dream bigger and intentionally create a better present and a more fulfilling future. Learning to love myself more fully, cultivate courage, and embrace all that Iโ€™m becoming.

Whatโ€™s on your summer bucket list?

  1. Happy Sunday Tieghan. Your pic of Oslo and your dad shucking cornโ€ฆbrings back happy childhood memories of getting fresh summer corn. Im looking forward to Ontario peaches (here in Canada)โ€ฆ I can eat a basket in a few days all by myself ๐Ÿคญ.

Iโ€™m inspired to make the garden herb shrimp scampi linguine that youโ€™ve posted this week.

Wishing you a fabulous summer aheadโ€ฆmay there be many wonderful family moments ahead.

    1. Hey Tracy,
Thanks so much for reading today! Right?! Such a nostalgic summertime activity for me as well. I’m sure your peaches are delicious! Let me know if you try the linguini, I hope you love it!

      Have a great Sunday!

  2. Check out the series All Creatures Great and Small! We find it on Masterpiece through Prime. We love it!

  3. Happy Sunday! TV I can help you with! I watched A LOT while my leg/ankle was healing this winter. Top fav is Queen of the South-it may be too bloody for you but thereโ€™s something about Teresa & the other charactersโ€ฆ Now in no particular order: Rompan Todos (Breaking it all is the English title, there are English subtitles) is about the influence of American rock & roll on Spanish music. Excellent music, fast paced, at least watch the first episode even if you decide you donโ€™t like it. Then tell me what you thought.
Others-as a history buff, try Medici; Call The Midwife; The Other Boleyn Girl. Vikings is beyond amazing but it may be too bloody for you (still well worth the watch-fast forward is a great tool!)
A few more: Click Bait, Virgin River & Suits.
    Have an amazing week!

    1. Hey Dale,
Happy Sunday and thanks for reading today! I appreciate you sharing all of these show recommendations, I will have to look into them and I’ll let you know what I watch! I’ve heard great things about Suits!
