Kicking off a month of “spooky” cocktails with this “I Put a Spell on You” Poison Apple Martini. Apple cider, a small splash of pomegranate, vodka, and edible gold glitter. All combined together to make the perfect easy martini for this year’s Halloween party. It’s fun, spooky, and completely delicious!

I told you guys I was getting into the Halloween season this year and I wasn’t messing around. This drink is all things spooky, fun, and deliciously perfect for the autumn season too.
Today marks the kick off of many Cocktail Saturdays to come. From now through Christmas we’ll have a new cocktail every Saturday…which is a lot of new drinks!
I’m so excited, you guys know how much I love these cocktail posts. I really do have a lot of fun putting them together.
As always, these posts will be very short and sweet. Just a paragraph or two and then the recipe! So with that…

Here are the details
The base of the recipe is made up of four ingredients, spiced apple cider, pomegranate juice, vodka, and maple.
The drink itself is a blood-red color, but I made my cocktails glisten with some edible gold glitter. This is optional, but adds a very magical touch to the drink!

Promise you guys will love this martini. It’s all things Halloween and I could not love it more. Enjoy, and we’ll see you tomorrow for another Favorites post!

Hi Tieghan, do you use the spiced apple cider straight or do you mix the cider according to directions when making ‘I put a spell on you’poison apple martini. thank you
Hi there! You mix it according to the directions in the recipe 🙂 Enjoy! xTieghan
Omg! Thanks, Tieghan! This is a great cocktail to make for Halloween. Can’t wait for the our party! I made it the first time with vodka, as you did….but the second time I made it with spiced rum and it was also delicious! Even my husband loves it! ❤️
About how much gold glitter do you recommend per cocktail? Thanks! ?
About a teaspoon! 🙂 xTieghan
I loved this cocktail. I thought the maple syrup would make it too sweet but it didn’t . No gold glitter but still had a fall look to it. I will definitely made a batch of this for Thanksgiving . Maybe toss in slice of apple .
Would the glitter still work just as well in a mocktail version of this recipe?
I use a lot of these types of edible glitter products for cake decorating and I know that they usually like to be mixed with alcohol and not water.
I would love to know this answer as well!
I hope I can make this “in bulk” in a Mason jar and chill in the fridge. I am having weekend guests the week before Halloween and think this would be great to serve then. My thought is to add all ingredients except the gold dust, then add that, shake, and pour. Hope it works!!!
Yum! I think that should work just fine. I hope you have a lovely weekend! xTieghan
What can I add if I do have “spiced” apple cider? Should I add cinnamon, allspice & nutmeg?
Whoo! I just made this and it is super sweet! It’s got a great flavor but I could only drink a little at a time. Would be a great dessert drink for apple lovers. Maybe leave out the maple syrup also. Thanks for a fun drink recipe!
Hey Rachel,
Happy Sunday!! I am delighted to hear that this recipe was enjoyed, I truly appreciate you giving it a try! xTieghan
My husband and I made this tonight 2 diff ways..the 1st time we used Apple vodka and the 2nd was regular Vodka (no flavor). Both were sooo good but we could taste the spiced apple cidar better w/out all the extra sweetness from the “apple” vodka! Our favorite is definitely using regular vodka but we loved this drink either way! Great way to start the Fall season!! ????❤️ Thanks for another great recipe!!

Can you recommend a different juice. I have someone who is allergic to pomegranate.
Hi Karen,
You could use cranberry juice in place of the pomegranate juice. I hope you love this recipe, please let me know if you give it a try! xTieghan
