The New Year’s Eve, Citrus Pomegranate Champagne Twist. Fresh mint, winter citrus, pomegranate juice, and a splash of orange liquor. Topped off with ginger beer and bubbly champagne. This drink is so easy to create, simply mix everything together for a festive holiday cocktail that’s perfectly sweetened, and so delicious! This drink can be made ahead of time for easy New Year’s Eve entertaining. Tip? Make the punch variation to serve to family and friends. The perfect fun and pretty cocktail to help us ring in the New Year!
Figured we’d go out with a real sparkle, you know?
Over the past few months, I’ve shared more cocktails than in any other year…in fact, we haven’t missed one cocktail Saturday since October! That’s three months of fun and festive holiday drinks. But as always December’s drinks have been my favorite to share. And my very favorite drink yet? I think that title has to go to the Frosted Mistletoe Margarita. I just LOVE everything about that cocktail, but this Champagne twist? It just might top that margarita. Something about this one feels oh so special. And yes, it’s delicious.
Question for you all, what’s been your personal favorite?
Now, obviously, it’s not Saturday, but I wanted to leave you all with one last celebratory drink to help us ring in the New Year. Nothing screams New Years’ like a champagne cocktail, so here we are! And since we’ll be taking a break from the cocktails come January, I thought why not end with one last fun cocktail?! It just felt like the right thing to do!
Champagne cocktails require almost no work, but they’re always so much fun.
This one is a simple mix of fresh wintery blood orange juice, pomegranate, and sweet orange liquor, which I think is key. It makes this cocktail almost like a champagne margarita, which yes, is every bit as delicious as it sounds.
I topped off each drink with spicy, sweet gingery beer and then that bubbly champagne. I feel like New Year’s Eve cannot be complete without a bottle of champagne, it just seems like a must.
SIMPLE, but GOOD.
You can also make this as a punch for serving guests. If doing so, I would probably recommend doubling the recipe, depending on how many people you plan to serve…or if you just know your family will be going back for seconds.
And as for the blood oranges, well they’re just starting to come into season, and they’re the prettiest citrus out there! Their red hue is super festive, so again, a must! Add a little pomegranate juice to “seal the deal” and you have the perfect New Year’s Eve drink. It’s easy to mix up, impressive, and every bit as delicious as it looks.
Hoping you guys all enjoy this one!! See you tomorrow for the very, very final post of 2020!!!

Absolutely delectable! Perfect for our New Year’s Eve gathering!
Hey Madison,
Happy New Year!🎆🎈 I appreciate you making this recipe and your comment! So glad to hear it was enjoyed! xx
I chose this drink over the Christmas punch bc it seemed less complicated and I was the only one drinking it preferred to make by the serving. I agree with Tieghan that this is simple but GOOD. I really liked the fresh mint in it. I used a regular orange, but I think it’d be even better with blood orange.
Hey Carissa,
Happy New Year!🎆🎈 I appreciate you making this recipe and your comment! So glad to hear it was enjoyed! xx
Huge hit for family Christmas! Even my grandmother asked for a second glass. I should’ve brought a second pitcher. Will strain the mint out before serving next time. Thanks for a great crowd pleaser!

Hey Tiegan:
Do you muddle the mint or just throw them in the pitcher with the juices and Cointreau? If we let it set overnight (with the mint), any issues?
Hi Michael,
For this recipe I do not muddle the mint. You can make overnight, just save the bubbles for when you are ready to serve. Please let me know if you give the recipe a try, cheers! xTieghan
What’s the part breakdown for the mix plus Prosecco plus ginger beer? 1/3 1/3 1/3? Thank you!
Hey Carrie,
I just do a splash of each. I hope you enjoy the recipe, please let me know if you have any other questions! xTieghan
You do a splash of each? Splash of prosecco? Splash of ginger beer?
