I was never, ever planning on posting this bread, and not because it’s not amazingly delicious.

Because I promise you, this bread will rock your world. So much so that you may be making it once a week from here on out. It’s just that good and by far the easiest thing I make. Without a doubt.

The only reason I was not going to post this recipe is that it’s embarrassingly easy. It requires one bowl, five minutes of prep time (seriously, tops), and five ingredients that I honestly think most everyone always has on hand.

Flour, baking powder, honey, salt, and beer.

That’s it you guys. And as I already said, it’s honestly one of the best loaves of bread you’ll ever have.

Today is the day I’m giving in and showing you guys one of my most requested recipes.

I’m not lying, I make a lot of food (A LOT). Actually, I make so much food that typically we have two or three freshly baked desserts lying around on any given day. You’d think I would give them away, but I can’t. By the time I’m done shooting them, and by the time my family has gotten their hands on the treats, it looks like an animal got to them.

In all fairness, I do a number on them while photographing, but my family kind of destroys them. Some people pick off their favorite parts first. Some people go straight for the middle. And some people dump the containers upside down, shake em side to side and do a little dance well they’re at it.

My mom asked me if I had anything for her to take to this “thing” she had last night. I was like, seriously…sure if you want to take the bars and that cake…that looks like animals got to it. Yeah, she passed. So I quickly whipped her up a batch of this beer bread. So easy and such a crowd-pleaser!

This bread is practically a staple on our dinner table. I mean, we’re having it again tonight.

It’s good enough that I make it when we have people over, bring it with me if we ever actually go anywhere (which is never, but I would) and have even made it on Thanksgiving and Christmas. People love this bread, love, love, love it.

It actually still amazes me how much people love it and how incredibly easy it is. It’s just plain bizarre.

If you are scared of homemade bread, this is the bread to make. You can’t mess it up. Ok, well I’m sure if you added way too much baking powder, dumped in tablespoons of salt, or maybe accidentally grabbed the powdered sugar instead of the flour. Yeah, in that case, I think it would be bad.

But I don’t think that’s going to happen.

I like this bread paired best with homemade chili or gumbo. But it’s also great as a side with roasted chicken, grilled steak, or even leftover for breakfast. I am telling you, this is your new favorite bread. Trust me!

I made this with bobs 1 for 1 gluten free flour and the blonde holidaily gluten free beer. The flavor is spot on, but is REALLY dense. Do you have any suggestions on how to make it a smidge lighter?

    1. Tieghan says:

      Hey Cierra,
Wonderful!! Love to hear that this recipe turned out well for you, thanks for trying it! This is a dense bread, it’s kind of just meant to be that way:) Have a great Sunday! xx

I have made A LOT of bread and this was the easiest most yummy quick bread I think I’ve ever had! I’m serving it tonight for St Patrick’s day with the usual corned beef etc I’m sure everyone will love it – by the way I used a carlsberg as one beer and an 805 Firestone as the other (I made 2 loaves) and they are both super good. I’m sure this will be asked for again – thanks T!

It was my first time making bread ever and it worked like a charm. Super easy to make and I paired it with the spicy broccoli cheddar soup and everyone loved it. I used a winter ale rather than a pumpkin ale.

As someone who doesn’t really care for beer, would I like this because I want to try it. That said, I have ZERO idea of what beer to buy? Can you help a sister out?

      1. Tieghan says:

You can use something as simple as a Bud Light for this recipe:)

This easy recipe worked a dream. Mine looked a little browner and crustier than your pictures but tasted really good. I’m actually making it again tonight.

Would you change any of the ingredients amounts if you were making these into biscuits? I’m make your white chicken chili for a chili cook-off and I’m gonna do this bread on the side but I figured biscuits/rolls would be best for a crowd

Nice I made it with gluten free flour!
Turned out alright probably would be better with wheat flour! My fault!!
So anyway you know it works gluten free!!
    Many Thanks!

This recipe did not work for me. I don’t think u can use any beer. I only had a very high alcohol content IPA and the bread would not cook. I left it in way longer to see if it would ever get right but it didn’t … the outside ended up black and the inside was still complete dough. Wish I wouldn’t have wasted an expensive beer !!

    1. Tieghan says:

Hi there! I am so sorry that this recipe didn’t turn out for you! Is there anything else you did differently? Let me know how I can help! xT

Such a great recipe! So easy and the finished product is amazing. My family asks for a fresh loaf every weekend. I’ve experimented with light and dark beers, and my favorite way to make it is with a Stella, but a nice porter is a close second. This weekend I’m going to try with bread flour.

    1. Tieghan says:

Thank you so much Evan! So glad you’re loving this bread! 🙂 xT

If you don’t mind the strong chemical taste of the baking powder, you will love this bread. So easy and quick to make. My husband loved the bread. I used a Guinness beer which gave the bread a lovely color (not anemic like her photos show).

I was skeptical of this recipe, but it turned out wonderfully. Not only was it pretty, but it was so thick and soft. I was very pleased with the final product and have taken a handful of photos to show friends and family, with a link to the recipe.

Hey Sally! So glad you’re loving this beer bread! Thank you for trying it out! 🙂 xT
