1/2cupfresh lilac flowers or 1-2 tablespoons dried lavender
To the bottom of your glass, add 4 lemon wedges, the blackberries, basil, and the lilac syrup. Use a muddler (or even the end of a rolling pin) and gently push the berries down until they release their juices and are lightly smashed. Fill about half the glass with ice and then add the rum, stir to combine. Top the glass with a little more ice and then sparkling water. Garnish with fresh basil and DRINK! ?
Lilac Simple Syrup
Combine water and honey in a small saucepan and bring to a low boil, simmer 1 minute and remove from the heat. Add the lilacs, cover and steep for 5-10 minutes. Strain the syrup and discard the lilacs. Allow the syrup to cool completely. Store in the fridge.
