Thanks for joining me for another Nine Favorite Things post.

Nine Favorite Things | halfbakedharvest.com

Hi, hi and happy Sunday! Hope you’re all enjoying your weekend and these gorgeous September days. This is my favorite time of year weather wise here in Colorado. It’s our fall, so the leaves are changing, the temperatures are in the low to mid seventies during the day, and the nights are very chilly. We had some cold rain this week, but Friday ended on a beautiful note and it’s been perfect ever since. I’m crossing my fingers that the nice weather continues throughout the week as we have a really exciting shoot happening here all week long that I can’t wait to share more about soon.

I’ve spent this past week in the kitchen working on upcoming HBH content, different projects, and attempting to get a little organized. I have some travel coming up in the next couple of weeks, then more in October, and November as well. Therefore, I’m trying to do my best to get as much done while I’m home as possible. I know it’s only early September, but I’ve already started thinking about the holidays…I know, I know, too soon, but I’m trying my hardest to be organized…

So much easier said than done. Any super organized people out there who may have tips for me, please let me know. I’m always looking for good organization tips/productivity hacks!

Anyway, coming up this week on HBH I’ll be sharing one of my favorite late summer tomato recipes, moving on to an addicting game day recipe (that happens to be healthy too), sharing a new cheesy soup, an updated Gerard family staple (that’s healthier and so much more delicious). And I’ll be ending the week with my first apple recipe of the season. Oh, and finally a new fall inspired cocktail Saturday recipe. Sooo, lots of delicious thing to look forward to.

If you missed any recipes from this week, be sure to sign up for our daily newsletter to stay updated with the most recent HBH recipes, entertaining stories, cookbook news, and more!

Hope you all have a great Sunday and enjoy this week’s favorites!

PS. thank you all so much for your incredibly kind comments on Thursday’s blog post. You guys continue to remind why I do what I do and I am so thankful for you all. Your encouraging and uplifting words have helped me so much this past week. Can’t thank you all enough. So happy you enjoy reading and cooking from HBH!

1. A Studio Barn Update.

It’s been a while since I gave you guys a Studio Barn update and I am happy to report that it’s (mostly) DONE. We have our CO (certification of occupancy), working appliances, running water, a freaking PIZZA OVEN, and a completely empty space full of amazing potential. I am SO excited.

We still have a lot of work to do before we can show off the space to you guys, but updates will be coming in October and then more throughout the end of the year. This space has been two years in the making, so it’s safe to say that we are one, very ready to be done with building and dealing with all the annoyances that come along with building. And two, so excited to finally be able to jump in and actually use the space…and just in time for some really fun projects too.

That big shoot that I was talking about earlier has something to do with the new studio space. You’re going to find out so much more this week, so be sure to follow along on Instagram for real time updates! Feeling so grateful and excited.

3. Fall Candles that you HAVE to Have….

One of my favorite things to do on fall nights is light a candle while I work away on the computer. It’s amazing because even though I am working, I feel so relaxed with a candle slowly burning next to me. Below are my tried and true FAVORITES, and while they are not the cheapest, they are simply the best. So ENJOY.

spiced cider (second favorite) | pumpkin clove (favorite scent) | tin candle | giant spice cider (love)

mini pumpkin clove | coffee + spice | honey crisp and cognac

4. Favorite Fashion Bloggers to follow for NYFW.

It’s New York Fashion Week! I look forward to this week every single year. NYFW has always been something I have loved (and dreamed of attending…maybe some day). It’s such a fun week full of amazing fashion and creativity. I always love following along via my favorite fashion bloggers/influencers. Here’s who I am following this year.

Something Navy – her stories are real, raw, very detailed and capture amazing behind-the-scenes content, and the prettiest runway shows.

Marianna Hewitt – for fun behind the scenes stories, beauty tips, and business tips.

Rachel Zoe – love following along with Rachel. She’s a designer and stylist, so you get an in-depth view of fashion week.

Hannah Bronfman – not technically a fashion influencer, but she’s covering a lot of the shows and sharing behind the scenes content in a different view. Also, she’s just an all around awesome person to follow.

The Chriselle Factor – for the real run down of what it’s really like attending fashion week.

Song Of Style – for a back seat pass to the best shows. Plus, fun and laid back stories that are real and authentic.

I’m always looking for new fashion inspiration and would love to know who your following. Let me know!

5. New Videos:

Cauliflower Shawarma Wraps with Green Tahini and Feta

20 Minute Heirloom Tomato Basil Chicken Parmesan Bolognese

Cheesy Buffalo Chicken French Bread

Note: as I mentioned last week, we recently lost all of our video content for the month of September, so I’ve been digging up some videos from the archives and re-sharing them. I usually hate doing this type of thing, but you know what? These recipes are all DELICIOUS too, and should not be forgotten about. So these might not be “new”, but I’m sure you’ll enjoy them almost as much!

6. Question of the Week:

Question: What’s your favorite, go-to every day pan that can be used for cooking multiple dishes?

I get this question so often and my answer is always the same, my Staub skillet. I use this every single day that I’m in the kitchen cooking. If you’re looking to invest in one kitchen tool, it’s should be a good skillet and Staub is my favorite brand. And if you are looking to learn more about cast iron cooking, check out this blog post I wrote a couple of months ago. Lastly, if you’re looking for more cast iron recipes, check out the the newly released Staub Cookbook (it’s my current favorite fall cookbook).

I’m asked new questions every single day, so I thought I’d start highlighting some of the ones that I am asked most in Sunday’s Favorite’s post. So, if you ever have questions just email me, DM me on Instagram, or leave a comment!

  1. t is one of the best places for tasting wine. One day my friend Allen talk about South African wine. She also tells me South Africa produced a huge quantity of wine. In my city.

  2. Heelo,Love the idea of the Butter Chicken meatball , but I would add lots of chopped coriander to the meatball mix as well as some chopped onion and spices such as garlic and ginger , fresh chili and coriander and cumin powder to add depth and flavor to the meatball ❤️

    1. I use my 10 inch every single day. It’s my favorite size! How many people are you feeding though? Sometimes it’s just nice to have the 12 inch if you are only getting one skillet.

  3. Hi Tieghan:
I have been following you for a long time now and, as always- love your honest posts as well as the recipes and photos (obviously).
I wanted to reach out to you- not sure this is the most appropriate forum- but- here goes. My family (my husband, sister and brother-in-law) started making wine about 10 years ago. It is now a full time pursuit and we just opened our little small batch winery. We are of course, so excited- can’t believe it is a reality.
So, really- all I wanted to do was invite you to come in- if you have time when you are in the Los Angeles area, and check it out. We are very proud of it and wanted to share.

    1. Hi Holly! That sounds so amazing and I would love to know more about it! Please send me an email with all of the details and I can get back to you!

  4. Tieghan you are such an inspiration! I appreciate your hard work for your brand, and it never goes unnoticed! Every day I look forward to reading your blog, and I make at least 4 of your recipes a week! Your cookbook resides on my kitchen counter all year long, and I’m always anxious to see what you have planned next. THANK YOU for everything, my family and I appreciate you! 🙂 P.S. when your studio is finished, and workshops are on, I am absolutely coming to one! Keep on rockin’, girl! 🙂

  5. I’m wondering if you would ever consider doing a meal prep recipe? Preferably something on the healthier side that would keep well during the week? I’m always looking for tasty, unique ways to prepare my weekly lunches, and this would be so useful!

  10. My family loved the Butter Chicken Meatballs – there was nothing left !
I just bought mushrooms at the Farmer’s Market and the ravioli is next on my list.

  11. Happy First Anniversary on your book being published.
So many accomplishments in so few years.
    Barn, book, and studio!
I’ve read your blog since the beginning and have enjoyed your cookbook.
You are such an incredibly hard worker that I wish for you those extra days in New York, LA, or on vacation.
Thank you for sharing all your talents for cooking and writing with us.

  12. Great post Tieghan, and I like you’re thinking for planning early for the autumnal and winter months. Sounds like you have a lot of things coming up to be excited for. I love Pinterest for browsing autumn themes, your picks are so good. My tip for planning would be to do things out of season, for example I shop for Christmas presents all year round. Hope you have a great weekend! 🙂 xx
