From the top 4 lessons I’ve learned from my mom, to some of the coolest Met Galla dresses, to a spring kitchen refresh, to an awesome lip sleeping mask – yes a sleep mask for your lips, to my latest favorite skirts, and this week’s dinners…Thanks for joining me for another Nine Favorite Things post.
Happiest Mother’s Day! Whether you’re a mom or not, I hope you all have plans to spend the day with family and friends. I am so excited that the weather has finally warmed up around here, so I’m hoping for some time outside in the sunshine. Food wise I’m baking up this blackberry french toast for my sweet mom this morning and doing a simple dinner of marinated steak and sesame potatoes (recipe is in the HBH cookbook). And for dessert? Chocolate Baklava. Already very excited about it.
What do you all have planned?
Coming up this week on HBH I’m sharing a couple new recipes for the grill (because Memorial Day is only a couple of weeks away. A fun new shrimp recipe, a no bake breakfast tart from the Inspiralized and Beyond Cookbook, and we’ll be ending the week with a frozen treat. Lots of yumminess coming your way.
If you’re planning out your dinners for the week, be sure to check out my menu below. Also, keep a lookout for the daily newsletters with exclusive content, my weekly favorites, and more. Sign up here.
Hope you all have a great Sunday/Mother’s Day. Enjoy this week’s favorites!
1. Things I Love about My Mom.
With it being Mother’s Day today, I thought I would take a minute to share a few things I love about my mom. Of course there are many things I love, but these are the qualities and quirks I love most:
I could go on and on about all the things I love about my mom. She’s truly the person that has inspired me most in life and she’s the reason I’m doing what I love. She’s also HBH’s better half, and for that I am SO thankful. There’s no one in the world who could do what she does day in and day out and still love me just the same at the end of the day. Trust me, I’m not the easiest to work with at times…
Bottom line, thanks mom for being you. For loving me and all (seven) of your crazy, unpredictable kids. We LOVE you. But um, I love you more than rest…because I was the very first and only girl for fifteen years. We have a special bond that can never be broken.

Hey Tieghan,
I hope you had a lovely mother’s day and I love your pictures of when you were a baby. It looks as though your mom loves you so much and I think that’s nice that’s you’re so close. I’m also really close with my mom and it’s nice to always have someone there. It’s been a bit tough visiting her in college and seeing how we both view the world differently, but I still love her so much. What your mom has taught you (#2– to never except NO. And you can do anything you ever want) is so powerful. You CAN do anything! Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Those words and the encouragement of your mom is incredible. I hope you had a lovely mother’s day and I’m looking forward to this weeks posts!

Happy Mother’s Day to you guys! Here in Spain we celebrated our moms one week ago 🙂
I love the “stop waiting” quote. I’m so guilty of that. Every Monday I say “I can’t wait for the weekend”, and every winter “I can’t wait for summer”. I need to stop saying that and make the most of every.single.day!
YES! Thank you Cristina!
