Thanks for joining me for another Nine Favorite Things post.

Nine Favorite Things | halfbakedharvest.com @hbharvest

I’ve spent the past (just typed out pasta instead of past…wonder what that means?) couple of days plotting out and brainstorming some fun new projects for HBH and I am so excited about them. The one thing that I find incredibly hard about building out bigger projects is that they seem to take forever to come to fruition. This KILLS me, as I hate the waiting game and want everything to happen the minute I think of it. Clearly I have zero patience. Like ZERO. I’m working on it, but it’s hard. My excitement can get the best of me sometimes, but I’m thankful to have so much to be exited about! It makes long days worth it, and it also makes Monday kind of fun again. I know, I am so weird.

A recap of this week’s posts: I started Monday off with a very healthy chickpea and egg salad jar that’s perfect for Sunday meal prep. I also talked about this easy 2 minute green smoothie, and shared a buttery scallop and orzo recipe. On Thursday, I used my trusty skillet for this cheesy tomato basil chicken, and then finished the week off with these 5 ingredient chocolate covered peanut butter bars (YUM). Coming up this week, you’ll see a new spring chicken dinner, a cheesy tart, a vegetarian main, and the sweetest chocolate pie.

And of course, if you are meal planning today, be sure to check my ideas below! Have a great Sunday and enjoy this week’s favorites.

PS. did you enter my latest Instagram giveaway? It’s one of my biggest yet, so be sure to check it out here.

1. Glowing Sunday Brunch.

Glowing Sunday Brunch #brunch #healthy #easy #recipes

So excited to share this Glowing Sunday Brunch that I put together with my friends over at The Chriselle Factor. Without a doubt, this is my favorite brunch I’ve created to date. And guys, I have created a lot of brunch menus. This menu is full of recipes that will leave you glowing from the inside out. I’m talking carrot and ginger spritz, jammy avocado toast, glowing smoothie bowls, and the sweetest strawberry almond cake. Best part? The entire brunch took less than thirty minutes to put together.

And? It’s just SO GOOD. So who’s ready for Sunday Brunch?! Me. Me. ME.

2. My Brother’s Kind of Cool…I Guess.

It’s been such a crazy journey for my brother Red since winning a gold medal at the Olympics. It’s also been so fun to watch everything that he has gotten to do. This past Thursday Red was honored at the Cavs game, and on Friday, he threw out the first pitch at the Indians home opener. My family is originally from Cleveland, so the city invited him back to celebrate his win. It was so fun to watch and even cooler to see how much that city loves and has embraced Red. It’s funny because we definitely used to feel like the outcast family. Aka, we were the town hillbillies that had kids snowboarding and riding dirt bikes in our back yard. Pretty sure our neighbors weren’t so hyped, and for sure one of us kids was always getting into some kind of trouble. That’s what happens when there are SEVEN kids in one house.

Anyway…

If you’re curious, you can watch Red throw out the first pitch here.

And a clip from the Cavs game here.

3. My Favorite Beauty Products Right Now…

If you follow along on Instagram, than you know I am really into beauty products right now. I’ve been really making an effort to take better care of my skin and these are the products I am in love with. Let me know what you guys love, so I can try them too!

PS. I am having so much fun with fashion and beauty right now.

4. An Instagram Q&A.

I always love doing Instagram Q&A’s with you guys. Should I do them more often?

Q: Your blog has so many recipes that are unique and amazing. How do you continue to have inspiration for new recipes? Do you ever feel like you are running out of ideas? I feel like I would. Haha.
A: Everything inspires me! Right now YOU GUYS are really my main inspiration! I love listening to you and hearing what you want/need out of my recipes. I also love being inspired by the seasons. Spring produce has me so excited! As for running out of ideas, at times it can be hard, but there is always a new, fresh way to spin a recipe! I just have to get creative.

Q: Did you get a college degree and do you think it’s necessary to get one?
A: School was never something I enjoyed. I rushed through as fast as humanly possible, graduating early with both a high school diploma and an associate degree. The plan was to attend fashion design school in LA…but, long story short, I did a bit of a 180 and started HBH instead. I think that college is right for certain people, especially those with a definite career path in mind. Personally I don’t feel I missed out by not attending. I’m doing exactly what I want to be doing. I think everyone’s education path should be different, and tailored more to their own needs. You need to do what’s right for YOU. College wasn’t right for me, so I did my own thing and here I am!

Q: Hi Tieghan! I am always so impressed with your capacity to post everyday, and such yummy beautiful posts too! How do you do it? And by that I mean that I would love to know more about your post crafting process.
A: OK. So one, I have help! It’s not just me running everything around here, so know that I am not super women. LOL. Two, I work. A lot. I typically test and photograph recipes during the day and write + edit photos at night. Some days are spent on the computer working on projects, responding to emails + comments, and doing a million and one other task. Others days are all spent in the kitchen. It’s a lot of work, but I love it!

Q: How many trials/food experiments would you go through in a week?
A: Haha. Too many to count. Seriously. I am working on anywhere from 2-4 recipes a day and testing them over and over until they are perfect!

Q: What is you workout routine like?
A: Hiking! Not a gym goer at all.

Q: What is you favorite cast iron skillet?
A: A Staub 10 inch skillet and Staub 12 inch skillet. I use these everyday, especially the 10 inch.

Q: How do you style a shoot? Do you draw it out beforehand or kind of just go with the flow as you are doing it?
A: To style shoots, I really just go with the flow. I can’t draw for the life of me, so that’s out. I like to think about what type of feel I want my readers to get when they look at the photo and go from there. Think warm and cozy, light and fresh, that type of thing. I also try to have the photo reflect the ethnicity of the recipe. So if something is Mexican, I go for a Mexican vibe, etc.

6. The Comparison Game.

YOU GUYS. This past week has been great, and it’s also been hard. Just like you guys, I am human, and I think the thing that gets to me the most is comparison. With social media and everyone always talking about these amazing things they’re doing, I cannot help but to compare. Unfortunately, I’m constantly left with the feeling that I’m just not doing enough or good enough. I know I’m not alone in this, so I thought I would share what almost always helps me get rid of these negative thoughts. Whenever I start to compare, I immediately turn those thoughts off and instead focus my thoughts on something positive, like a project I am working on. Switching my focus to something positive in my life reminds me of all the good things happening.

How do you deal with comparison?
