Thanks for joining me for another Nine Favorite Things post.

Nine Favorite Things | halfbakedharvest.com @hbharvest

Hard to believe it’s already the last Sunday of January and that we are well into the 2018 year. This past month has been full of so much. Everything from sharing healthy recipes, filming new cooking videos, incorporating new, behind the scenes, changes, and watching my younger brother, Red, make the US Olympic Snowboard Team. I’d say it was a pretty good start to the new year.

The beginning of February has a couple of fun work projects and then it’s off to Korea for almost two weeks for the Olympics. Red competes in both Men’s Snowboarding Slopestyle and Men’s Snowboarding Big Air. Slopestyle kicks off the very first day of the Olympics. In the states you can watch along live at 8:00 pm EST on February 9th (South Korea is 14 hours ahead of EST here in the states). Big Air is not being held until the very end of the games (in the states, qualifiers are on the 20th and finals are on the 23rd). My parents will be staying in Korea for both events, but my siblings, cousins and I are only staying for Slopestyle. We will then spend a week exploring South Korea before heading back. I’ve been working to bulk up content for HBH while I am away, so lots and lots of cooking!

Coming up this week I will be sharing a new Korean inspired recipe, a sweet snack, a healthy Super Bowl appetizer, a fun salad, and of course…a sweet treat to finish off the week. If you’re planning out your dinners for the week, check out some of my ideas below. Have a great Sunday and enjoy all of this week’s favorites!

1. A couple Healthy Recipes.

I’ve been sharing some recipes over on The Chriselle Factor recently, and here are two of my favorites from the past month.

Kale and Mushroom Ramen…one of my favorite winter soups.

Winter Bliss Buddha Bowl…full of all the prettiest winter veggies.

2. 10 Things I Wish I knew in My 20’s.

So here’s the thing. I’m only 24, but I can already relate to so much this article discusses. If you’re in your 20’s, or even 30’s, I highly recommend reading this article. Below are the top 5 things I struggle with most.

  1. Everything is going to be OK…I am consistently stressed about the future, so I wish I could remind myself of this more often, because in the end, everything turns out ok.
  2. Trust your Gut…I struggle with this SO much. I hope with time I can grow to really be able to trust my gut and make decisions more confidently.
  3. Learn To Take Care of Yourself…need to work on this.
  4. Slow Down…I am always go, go, go and need to learn to breath for a minute before jumping into the next project.
  5. Know that it’s never going to be perfect…YES, I need to accept this. Hopefully with time accepting this fact will become easier. Baby steps I guess.

  1. I can usually resist nachos but those look so incredible! And I seriously need the tacos tonight for Taco Tuesday! 😉

  2. Hey Tieghan,
I’m looking forward to seeing Red compete in Korea and hear all about the trip! 🙂 I like your choices for the studio bard (especially the last three) and the wood cutting boards.
Also, I read the article for tips in your 20s and agree that I need to listen to them more (especially the ones you mentioned). I’m 20 now, but feel like I’m 60, but also still like a kid, and agree it’s a tough time. Hopefully all will be well and I agree that we should try to slow down a bit more. Walking helps. 🙂
I hope your work events go well this month and I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s post.

  3. So excited to hear about your travels to Korea. What a great opportunity to have the experience with your family. Hope to see photos!

  4. Great list Tieghan! Glad you’re off to such a great 2018 and I loved each of your favorites. How ironic that you liked the post about things you wish you knew in your 20s because I did too. I shared it in a link list of my own last week. I’m only almost 22 but I also find I can relate to almost everything on the list spot on.
