{making this Cream Cheese Swirled Brown Sugar Pumpkin Coffee Cake on repeat}

Hi! For some reason it feels like it’s been a while since I caught up with you guys, so I am happy to be back with yet another favorites post! This week has been a mix of highs and lows. As I mentioned in Wednesday’s post I’ve been struggling with horrible migraines and they continued through the week. Heading to the doctor tomorrow to see what’s up, but it made my trip to LA a little hard (more on my trip below!). Thankfully, I did have some migraine medication that helped get me through somewhat…again highs and lows. Back home now and just trying to let my body rest up a bit, so no major weekend activities for me.

How about you guys? Hope you’re enjoying some beautiful fall weather this weekend. I am LOVING all your Instagram stories, and the photos of HBH Cookbook recipes you have made. So fun seeing everyone diving into the book and loving it!

Coming up this week we have lots of yummy recipes. We’re kicking the week off with a brand new slow cooker recipe…and finishing up the week with a sweeter pumpkin recipe! Don’t forget to check out this week’s dinner plan below! Have a great Sunday!

1. My Trip to LA.

As mentioned above my trip to LA was made just a little hard because of some in and out headaches, but for the most part it was an awesome trip!

Hallmark Home and Family- on Wednesday I taped a segment for my favorite morning show, Hallmark Home and Family. I made my Easy Coq au Vin from the HBH Cookbook and it truly could not have been more fun. Everyone on that show is incredibly nice, fun, and just great people to be around. I met so many people and just had the best time. Plus, Henry Winkler did say that my Coq au Vin was DELICIOUS and he’d be buying the book.

ps. Henry Winkler is the nicest man. I wish I had gotten a photo…but everyone was asking him, and I felt bad making him take another photo.

You can watch the segment here.

Shooting with My Domaine I filmed a new video with My Domaine, my favorite home and lifestyle site. We cooked up the Thai Veggie Curry from the HBH cookbook and I cannot wait for you guys to see the video! It’s not just my hands either, it’s me on camera with My Domaine editor Sacha Strebe. I had so much fun with this crew and cannot wait to do it again!

The Rest of the Time- the rest of my time in LA was filled with a couple exciting meetings (can’t wait to share some fun projects in the works!) and resting up. All went well, and all in all it was a great trip!

2. The Little Market.

Have you guys heard of The Little Market? It’s a nonprofit founded by women to empower women. They carry home goods from female artisans around the world. Not only do I love their cause, but I love their products as well. Below are my favorite picks for fall.

  1. Just wanna say I see you were in LA I am in OC and last weekend I had the worst migraine Friday and Saturday I was so nauseous and I can’t even explain my entire weekend was a waste I did nothing I couldn’t move but I’m pretty convinced it’s the weather / barometer so considering you were in my location and you had one too that’s pretty Trippy! I know you may think I’m nuts but just sayin … ya never know! I have been tracking the barometer and the graph looked pretty funky those two days that I had a headache not sure which days you did ! Love the cook book about to read it in bed now!

    1. That is so odd that we both had migraines! I wonder if it did have something to do with the weather.. Anyway I am super glad you love the cookbook! Thanks!

  2. Hey sweet girl……I love your website and recipes!! I think you are on “overload” and the migraines are the little reminder to take good care of yourself. So take time to recoup, repair and replenish, we all need that!

Once again I love your creative recipes and gorgeous pictures. They taste terrific too!

  3. Hey Tieghan,
I’m sorry about your migraine and I hope your doctors appointment goes well tomorrow. I’m sending you positive thoughts and warm hugs. I’m glad you had a nice time in LA! I’m looking forward to seeing the crockpot recipe and pumpkin dessert! I hope you’re feeling better and able to get some rest.

  4. Hi Tieghan. I have also suffered with migraines, mostly with high stress situations. You have been doing so much, since before you introduced your blog when you were, what, nineteen? Your schedule has increased by the nth degree since then. You are prolific and have great energy, but your body is sending you SOS signals. So, it’s good to read that you are heeding them. We all hope you get to enjoy the holidays, spend some real quality time with your friends and family. Take care, Ardith

    1. Hey Ardith, I am so sorry to hear that you struggle with migraines as well. But thank you for sending some well wishes my way and I hope you enjoy the holidays as well!

  5. Just watched your video . . . you did awesome!! I’ve been cooking nonstop from your cookbook. Been sending photos to my friends & family. Many have now purchase your book too! My boys say they can’t wait to come home from CSU over break to eat everything I’ve been blasting out 🙂 One loves to cook & is inspired to learn some new recipes.

    1. I am so glad you watched the video, thank you!! Also, it is amazing you’re enjoying the book! I hope your sons enjoy the recipes ?

  6. Loving the new format, only, I do miss the little sprigs of rosemary along the sides! Thank-you for introducing the “The Little Market”, a fantastic site and I can’t wait to shop there. Also, I know that I have said this before but I love “Nine Favorite Things”!! It is one of the most entertaining, educational and just plain fun parts of Sunday! Thank-you so much!

  7. Hi Tieghan! So sorry to hear about your struggle with migraine. As someone who had her first migraine before the age of 2, I can relate to how much migraines or the fear of triggering migraines can affect your life. However, I know from my own experience that there are often ways that you can learn to avoid them or lessen them. It’s good you are going to the doctor, as that should always be the first step. Everyone’s triggers are different, so there is no point in following someone else’s protocol, but I would strongly suggest keeping a headache diary to anyone with migraines so that you can look for patterns and possible triggers. Things like too much or too little sleep, not eating enough or often enough, red wine, aged meats, msg, exercising when it is too warm outside can all be triggers and can all be avoided by lifestyle changes. Other things like weather changes or hormonal fluctuations are not modifiable, but knowing that they are triggers, if they are, often a medication taken to avoid the headache can be used. Hope this is helpful, and here’s looking forward to you feeling better.

    1. Hi Vivian! I am so sorry to hear that you struggle with migraines as well. Thank you so much for this tip, I think this will really help me out!

  8. Last be your recipes! My crockpot just broke (while making black bean chili, ugh!), so I’m in the market for a new one. Any suggestions??
