{Maple Glazed Apple Fritters for a Sunday treat}

Thanks for joining me for another Nine Favorite Things post!

Happy Sunday everyone! Hoping you’re all having a great September weekend. I’ve been spending the weekend preparing for the Half Baked Harvest Cookbook retreat that is happening later this week. The retreat snuck up on me so quickly, so I spent Saturday running around cleaning the barn, doing some fall decorating, and prepping any food that can be made in advance.

l am planning to spend today making the outside of the barn look like all things autumn. Meaning, buying lots of mums (one of my favorite fall flowers), pumpkins, and hay stacks. Not going to lie, I’ve always wanted to decorate for fall since I was a kid, but I’ve never really had an excuse to do so until now. I am pretty much loving it and vowing to do the same next year…event or no event! I mean, really? Do we need an excuse to decorate and have fun with the seasons?

Nope, we sure don’t!

What are you guys up to this weekend? Hoping that some of you are enjoying reading through the Half Baked Harvest Cookbook (THANK YOU all again for the support, I am so humbled and grateful), and maybe even making my favorite Apple Ricotta Pancakes or Salted Brioche Cinnamon Rolls for brunch this morning. I am actually making both recipes exactly one week from today for the retreat. Can’t wait.

Coming up this week on the blog we have a take-out favorite made healthy, some easy homemade bread (YUMM), the perfect fall chicken recipe, something cheesy…but veggie filled, and we’ll end the week by kicking off the official start of fall with one of my favorite seasonal recipes. Lots of goodies this week!

Enjoy all my favorites today and have a great Sunday!

2. The New Studio Barn Kitchen

On Friday, our designers over at Park and Oak sent us the mood board for the kitchen and pantry in the new studio barn and to say that I was in love would be a major understatement. It is going to be GORGEOUS and I am so incredibly excited. If you don’t follow Park and Oak, I would do so now. They are going to give you some seriously gorgeous design inspiration. Everything they do is incredible. Here is a sneak peek of what we are envisioning for the new studio’s kitchen. Can’t wait to show you more in an upcoming post later this month.

  1. Beacon, NY is just outside of NYC via the train or driving! It’s beautiful, quaint, has a stellar contemporary art museum (Dia: Beacon) and absolutely breathtaking hiking trails (even better with fall foliage!). I’ve been there a couple of times and I really love it.

About to order your cookbook now and am so excited!

    Happy Travels!

  2. This came at a perfect time; my man has been craving cinnamon rolls and you have 3 great recipes right here! Thank you for all your beautiful work and for sharing your favourites.

  3. There are so many AMAZING spots in upstate NY to see! Depending on how far upstate and west you’d like to go, I HIGHLY recommend Letchworth State Park. It’s huge and beautiful, and has everything you could want in a State park, gorges, waterfalls, hiking. Anywhere in the Adirondacks is amazing too, and should be so gorgeous that time of year.

  4. Your cookbook arrived last week and I’m savoring each page. The photography makes me want to make each and every recipe. I can’t wait to get going. It is a beautiful book.

  5. I’ve read through the book twice and LOVE it!! Can’t wait to start cooking!

As for NY, I love the Lake George area. Lots of great hiking and the lake itself is gorgeous. Be sure to do one of the boat tours!

    Good luck with the retreat!

  6. Cookbook is arriving tomorrow and I couldn’t be more excited. I purposely haven’t bought groceries for the week so that I can wait and make something from the book for dinner this week!

Take a look at the town of Cold Spring, NY! It’s a tiny town with lots of cute little shops and places to eat and it’s close to Bear Mountain, which has amazing hiking spots and opportunities to see the fall foliage of the Hudson Valley from up above – so gorgeous.

  7. Hi Tieghan!

As a longtime reader and daily Instagram follower, I just had to tell you that I LOVE your book! I picked it up at Barnes and Noble last night and the girl who sold it to me said, “When you make that dish on the cover, come back here and share it with me!” I read the book cover to cover last night and I can’t wait to host some friends and family for dinner to make it happen! With fall dawning upon all of us in Chicago, some of your soups and autumnal recipes sound like just the ticket! Congratulations on a gorgeous piece of work–I can’t wait to see the book’s spine daily on my book shelf and of course cook from it often! What a wonderful accomplishment and I can’t wait to see what else you come up with next!

    1. Awh thank you so so much Susan! You have no idea how happy it makes me that you are enjoying the cookbook and I hope you love the recipes in it! Have a great week!

  8. Just got a message today that my book has been shipped, I’m so excited to finally start cooking from your book. The recipe videos you’ve been posting look incredible.

  9. All I can think about now is those honey, apple and bacon cheesy paninis followed by the apple cinnamon rolls with chai icing. My Sunday cooking sorted! 🙂
