Who’s in need of some serious detox food?

My 35 Favorite Healthy Recipes for the New Year | halfbakedharvest.com @hbharvest

I’ve been working hard all week on my upcoming Healthy January recipes and I’m so excited to start sharing them all with you next week. Lots of yummy recipes coming up! In the meantime, I wanted to put together a post including all of my favorite healthy recipes that are already on the blog. I know a lot you are planning for the New Year, so I thought this post might be helpful. What I love about all of these recipes is that while they are healthy, they are also filling and satisfying. I’m not one for boring salads or tasteless chicken, I like a lot of color, flavors and texture in my food, so nothing bland here!

I have actually loved cooking up the healthier eats this week. I’ve been making cozy, healthy comfort food and it’s been awesome. There’s something that feels so fresh and new about recipes that are full of nutrients. Perfect way to way to welcome in the New Year!

Tomorrow I will be sharing my last cocktail post (and my last post of 2016 ?) so be sure to check back! Hope you guys are having an awesome laid back week!

  1. YUMM! I’m from the other hemisphere and these dishes are perfect for the colder months. I have to backtrack through you recipes the find the ones for summer!

  2. Here s a feast that s both merry and bright. We ve partnered with Tieghan Gerard, founder of Half Baked Harvest, to throw an ornament party complete with a tasty menu, including this main course and sides.

  3. Thank you so much for these recipes. I’ve made 3 or 4 already this year and they are so full of flavour. Even my veggie hating husband tells me how delicious they are. I live in the UK and in a small town at that, so I can’t always find all of the ingredients, but a few substitutions haven’t changed the amazing flavours.

    1. I am SO glad you love the recipes you have made & your husband too!! Thank you Nia, I hope you enjoy others as well!

  4. Tieghan, firstly I’m obsessed with everything you make! But you HAVE to try something… a few years ago I came across something on the internet along the lines of “the science behind cooking salmon”… try baking your salmon at 250 degrees F. For 25 minutes (sometimes it takes 30 for meatier pieces) I like using dry seasoning because it creates such a delicate piece of fish that you don’t want it to be smothered in a sugary glaze. I promise you will turn your back on high-heat quick cooking your salmon. I haven’t tried this with other fish, but I won’t eat anyone else’s salmon but my own now because it just feels like everyone else’s is so wrong! Lol I hope you try, your life will change 🙂 ps I’m sure you already know this, don’t use “atlantic” wild caught is the way to go. Insanely different with the flavors, even when you have to pull out all the bones, that’s the labor of love!!

    1. Hey Natalie!! Oh my gosh, slow roasting the salmon at a low temperature sounds insanely delicious! I think I need to give it a try this month. Thank you so much for the suggestion! 🙂 ps. alwasy wild caught, it’s the best!

  5. NONE of these recipes look like they’re deprived of flavor, calories, nutrients and more, which is AMAZING. Detoxing is totally mixed up with restricting–totally not true! You can detox simply by eating whole foods, and these recipes contain a mass array of them! 😀 Now I would LOVE to try the peanut butter acai bowl, banana oatmeal, mean green detox salad, sweet potato soup, zucchini noodle bowls (veganized, of course!), falafel bowl, veggie spring rolls, coconut quinoa and lentil curry, cauliflower tacos, coconut cashew spaghetti squash alfredo, chocolate chip almond butter banana bread, chocolate quinoa bark, chocolate coconut almond bars, and avocado brownies! Wow, that’s a mouthful, but I better get cooking!

  6. Gosh your pictures are gorgeous! I love that hot chocolate can be healthy 🙂 People in my family say they don’t like beets, but I LOVE them and can only imagine they would be awesome in hot chocolate, and not just on top of salads or in borscht. (I bet you would make an AMAZING borscht, by the way!)

    1. Thank you so much Melissa, I am really glad you are loving the hot chocolate cause thats one of my favorites!! I will have to look into borscht!

  7. So I found your website in November and I love it! I’ve tried oodles of tasty recipes and this post was exactly what I needed after a month of delicious holiday goodness. Can’t wait to get home and try everything on this list ?

  8. Right now, it feels like I need to detox for about the entire month of January… TBut talk to me mid-jan and I’ll prob be back on the “gimme chocolate” wagon. So I am LOVING your inclusion of chocolate detox recipes in this list!

  9. I could definitely use some good healthy recipes right about now! These all look and sound incredibly delish and so perfect for a healthy new year’s resolution!

  10. I absolutely love these recipes! They look amazing and are healthy which is such a bonus! I am going to make one of these tomorrow night! 🙂

  11. Tieghan!!! Your photos of your food are SOOOOOOO beautiful! Girl, you are so talented! Can’t wait to try some of these and continue to get my daily dose of Half Baked Harvest! 🙂

  12. Exactly the inspiration I needed before I head to the store today!!! I love seeing all those photos together. Such a rainbow of beautiful healthy food. I’m going with the Thai carrot sweet potato soup and Greek quinoa salad. Thanks, Tieghan!

  13. I really love how rich and colorful all of these options are as well as how healthy they look! Definitely will be bookmarking many of these recipes and trying them out in the new year!
